Via Vecchia

We had a delicious Italian meal and my son had yummy GF penne pasta that he was very happy with. (There were multiple adult options for pasta using their GF substitute.) The waiter was very knowledgeable and careful - referenced an allergen menu that was marked up with what we could have and not have. And double checked items with the kitchen to be sure. The grilled items are on the same griddle as bread, so those are off limits for avoiding cross contamination but there will still good options, not to mention amazing cocktails and a nice vibe.

I have been to Via Vecchia a few times and they have been wonderful in accommodating my gluten free requests. They're patient and kind, they also have a number of options. Their chickpea pasta can be a substitute for most of their pasta dishes. No dedicated Gf fryer so anything fried is out but they do a good job avoiding cross contamination.

Via Vecchia is the perfect date night spot in Portland. They don’t have a GF menu, but wait staff is knowledgeable about GF options and I’ve never had an issue with cross contamination. AMAZING cocktails and wine list.
