This place was amazing. Said I was gluten free and the server automatically goes “are you celiac?” Here’s what you can’t have and can have. Felt safe and didn’t get sick!

I went here with a group from work - I am celiac but was not given a choice of restaurants and thought I would not be able to eat. When I called, they said they had some GF options. Good food, GF designated on menu with limited options (salads, some small dishes, no desserts). Staff was knowledgeable about GF options and cross-contamination and very helpful, pointing out what was and was not celiac-friendly. Would not be my first choice of places to eat, given the limitations, but I was happy that I could eat at all, and was pleasantly surprised about the knowledge of the staff.

This place was great, not sure what the previous reviews are about especially because there’s no pizza on the menu. They were very good about pointing out gluten free, dairy free, etc. They even make the guacamole at the table so you can choose which ingredients you want in or out.

I ordered gluten free menu due to my psoriasis and it came out with wheat flour dough for their mexican pizza which they had the gf sign on. My body reaction to gluten is not instant but it comes out slow. They did not think they made a severe mistake at all.

Mexican restaurant near Columbus Circle. They have a sensitive customer who comes here regularly and, as such, are very knowledgeable about cross contamination. They know to prepare foods for sensitives in a separate area. I am non-Celiac but can’t have foods cooked in the same fryer as flour if I want to avoid digestive issues. I sat at the bar and the bartenders knew all about it. They made recommendations based on my level of sensitivity. I was impressed. They were also extremely friendly and made me some excellent margaritas (hint: try the Siete Leguas. Vida Verde has a really special selection of tequilas and mezcals). Food was good, not spectacular, but the friendly, personal service, attentiveness to my gf needs, and the incredible margaritas push this place to the top of my list. I will definitely be back. Regularly. Be sure to communicate with them clearly - if your server isn’t immediately knowledgeable about gf, ask the bartenders, who are great and really know their stuff.

Update: I went again and my food just wasn’t that good. Great place for drinks though- I’ll come back for that.
