Variety of gluten free options here is fairly sparse, but good. There’s no dedicated fryer so you can’t get corn chips but anything that has flour tortillas can be ordered with corn instead. Everything we ordered tasted great and there were even plenty of gluten free options for desert. Server seemed fairly understanding and was nice about everything so we felt very heard and safe. Overall, this is a fairly strong Mexican experience with solid gluten free options. It ain’t perfect but it’s pretty good.

Ordered the tacos on corn tortillas and was pleased with the quality of the food and had no issues- and our server was very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu- and let us know that the chips and hard shells are cross contaminated.

The food was pretty good, not the best Mexican food I’ve had. Our server didn’t really understand celiac and seemed irritable. Surfaces were cleaned for preparation (or so we were told) but they messed up the number of tacos ordered so who knows what really happened.

They do not have a gf fryer so can’t eat the chips, but the tacos and enchiladas are amazing every time!

Outstanding meal! The corn soft tacos are wonderful!
Love this place. The tacos are unlike anywhere else! The staff will change their gloves upon request. I have had the corn tacos many times (meat filling, but vegan options available) and salads. Never gotten sick, despite being highly allergic.

Tried the tacos. Food seemed to be quality ingredients but was missing on the flavor. Really good, fluffy corn tortillas. Didn't get sick.
Do not eat here. The staff were completely clueless about cross contamination. They advertise gluten free but don’t know what it means. I was assured my meal would be gluten free but it absolutely wasn’t. Haven’t been so sick in months.

Great staff, normal tequila, and amazing knowledge of what’s GF. If you like Mexican, highly recommend.
Yes
everything on their menu is GF with the exception of flour tortillas and you can always substitute corn ones

Menu states everything is gluten free except flour tortilla and beer. In reality they fry Thor chips and hard taco shells in a shared fryer. They disclosed about the chips right away. They didn't disclose about the hard shells until our order was half made. We had all order hard taco shells. They switched to soft corn but we all got sick anyway. They don't seem to understand safe food handling or allergies. This is gluten free for those without a medical problem.

I like Viva a lot, and for a while was going there frequently. The menu and waitstaff emphasize that all menu items are GF w/ the exception of the flour tortillas and the beer. I have always requested that gloves be changed when my food is made and indicated that it is a medical issue for me.
Unfortunately, the last three or four times that I ate at Viva, I was ill afterwards with no other identifiable source. I love the restaurant, and would totally continue going if they were able to work out their processes to prevent cross-contamination, but can't risk it again.
