GF Foodie southern comfort food heaven Lot of delicious menu choices you won’t find anywhere. The restaurant is clean, the prices are reasonable and the staff is very nice and helpful. This was my third time eating here. I’ve tried something different every time and have never been disappointed. They also have take and bake biscuits available. Highly recommend!

Cannot say enough good things about Voodoo Chicken! I feel so lucky to have this restaurant here in Johnson City. Everything that is gluten free or can be made gluten free is clearly marked, and that includes the vast majority of the menu! They keep separate gluten free fryers.

The chicken is great. Some of the sauces are VERY spicy so beware. I almost cried when I tried the biscuits--I had plenty of glutenous biscuits back in the day that weren't as good as the Voodoo GF biscuits. Tons of options for sides and condiments. My favorites are the fried pickles and the kimchi.

Don’t question it. Just eat here. They only have 3 sides and one sauce that is not gluten free. Plus the food is absolutely amazing and delicious. My mother has celiacs and she can eat here just fine.

My wife and I went here on a saturday morning after reading reviews on FindMeGF. As GF fried chicken is rare in eastern TN, thats what we ordered - and it was quite good, the crunch was there, and the chicken was good quality, tasty, and sizable pieces. Got waffles with the chicken, and liked the texture and quality. It was Saturday and they had made some of their Sunday Special cinnamon rolls, so we got those, a couple of biscuits and some banana pudding - expecting to have plenty to take home, and we weren't disappointed. all of the food was excellent and GF! We met Jeff(owner) who gave us the history and the evolution from regular restaurant to a place where most of the food is gluten free by default! We will be back! (If you want the Cinnamon rolls, call ahead - they go quick and are usually only there on Sundays. Can order custom orders of them though! They do have some foods that are not GF - but they are clearly marked on the menu.

Excellent gluten free menu with all the things you’ve been missing! Will be our frequent favorite when visiting Johnson City! Talked to the owner/chef Jeff which was a real treat. He told us all about how his restaurant became gluten free through experimenting. He primarily used rice flour which gives the fried chicken and waffles a light and crispy yumminess. The chicken was delicious and paired with the waffles and a spicy maple syrup with bacon was a tasty delight. Lots of options including gluten free biscuits which we will be coming back for! Fried pickles, delicious crunchy sweet potato fries and grilled tenders were also served for a gluten and dairy free plate. Yum yum yum. Gluten free or not come visit Voodoo Chicken!!!

The biscuits are amazing! If you don’t come for anything else, come for the biscuits. We stopped in on a Sunday and the place was packed. They handled the rush well. We had chicken and waffles and chicken tenders. The fries were delicious. But the best part was dessert. I got strawberry shortcake - better than any gluten filled shortcake! Everyone else got the cinnamon rolls. This place is a gem!

Three of us from Maryland were traveling to Gatlinburg and I checked ahead for gluten free restaurants along the way. I read the reviews for Voodoo Chicken and was so excited to have fried chicken again, since I have been diagnosed with Celiacs ( as well as a dairy issue), while the rest of my party has no problem with gluten. What a great experience and delicious meal! Most of the food on the menu is gluten free. We enjoyed talking to Jeff, the owner, about his restaurant. Everyone working there was so helpful. I highly recommend this place. We hope to stop on the way home to try it again!

Great food! Many gluten free items. We had chicken tenders, chicken wings, broccolini, potato wedges, biscuits, waffles, and banana pudding. 2 of us have celiac. No reactions. The non-celiac said food was great! Make sure you tell them you are celiac…it typically comes on a slice of bread, but they substituted a gluten free biscuit for the bread. Owner said he does cinnamon rolls on Sunday. Can’t wait to try!

One of the best choices for gluten-free dining!!! Stopped on our way home to Ohio. Their gluten-free fried chicken is so so good and flaky and crispy and the biscuits are outstanding. And, in 11 years of eating GF, I have never tasted another biscuit this good, even the ones I make at home and I think they’re pretty darn delicious. It even had a an awesome The fried pickles were outstanding also. dirty rice was good and I stuffed myself on a few things before getting to try anything else. The only thing that was just OK was the bun. It tasted like a Udi’s prepackaged bun but even that didn’t stop me from giving this place five stars. They have different prep areas, different fryers, and separate waffle irons for gf items. All workers are aware of allergy orders. I got 3 biscuits to go!!

This is the very best chicken I have ever had. It is juicy and full of flavor. And there are many different sauces to choose from. Almost everything on the menu is or can be made GF. They have two dedicated fryers. I had the Cheerwine glaze and it is sweet and just hint of hot spice. This is Nashville style chicken so it brings some great heat. Their sides plut this place over the top: fried pickles, okra, collard greens, slaw... Are all flavorful, and seasoned spot on. Highly recommend.

Has GF battered fried chicken, including several bone-in and chicken tender options/flavors. These are not special order items because ALL of their chicken is brined in house, and breaded with their own unique gluten free mix. That's right, it is so good that even people who don't have to be GF are eating it. Ten of their side dishes are also clearly labeled as GF. A few caveats if you are celiac or highly sensitive: unless you request otherwise, some of their chicken is normally served on a piece of bread; and the soy garlic, sweet chili, and miso are not GF. I have eaten there twice and everything has been amazing! They are located in downtown Johnson City where Go Burrito used to be (the Rum Bar is still open at the same location).
