There was a lot of gluten free food choices (salad, dressings, rice, fish, poi, teriyaki (w/tamari) beef and pork)… basically, everything was gluten free with the exception of the potato mac salad, bread roll, and the desert cake. I spoke with the chef and she was willing to make me a fruit bowl for desert but I declined. The only and biggest issue I had with the luau was that it is buffet style and the risk of cross contact is high. When I originally booked they said it wouldn’t be a problem and they would have a separate plate prepared for me. When I got there no one could help with that and they kept referring me to speak with the chef. The chef was EXTREMELY helpful and let me go first to make a plate before the rest of the hundreds of people potentially contaminated the food. She also allowed the others in my party to come with me so I wouldn’t have to eat alone. Overall, the food was good and safe (assuming you get to go first).

Almost every item with the exception of the bread and cake was labeled GF! Even the terayaki beef was made using GF soy sauce. The only fail was that the dessert plate had the GF dessert in contact with the coconut cake, which was a cross contamination.

Went a couple of days ago. Almost all of the food was gluten free and everything was labelled. They only use glyten free soy sauce when making their teriyaki as well. All the chafing dishes are side by aide though so the two gluten conatinging items (buns and mac salad) could potentially fall into the gluten free chafing dishes.

They have three desserts though (papaya, hawaiian pudding, and coconut nut cake) and the put an individual serving of each item on a small plate and each peraon can grab one of the plates if they want dessert. Unfortunately this means that their gluten containing dessert touches their gluten free dessert so celiacs can't have any.

Food was delicious though and I did not get sick at all and got to eat until I waa very full. Highly recommend.

Did this luau on the 4th of July. I had asked the concierge if he knew of any luaus that offered a variety of gf foods and he provided this one. I reviewed the menu before we booked and they did have numerous options listed. When we arrived I saw at the buffet that they also listed gf on the placards for each dish so that was nice. Of the main dishes and sides the only items my daughter couldn’t have were a macaroni salad and the coconut rolls. The fish was listed as gf on their website menu but not the placard so she did skip that out of caution. There was plenty to eat so she wasn’t going hungry by skipping that. She was in heaven with the teriyaki beef and the pork was fantastic as well. For the desserts, 2 of the 3 options were gf, but they had the plates already prepared with all 3 options (including the coconut cake which is not gf). We did have to ask for a separate plate to be prepared for the desserts and it did take awhile for that to come out so we asked a different person and 5 minutes later ended up with 2 plates of gf desserts when that person and the original person came out. As for the luau…location was perfect right on the water, the sun set during the performance so that was nice to see and the show itself was very good. This one doesn’t have the activities of other luaus I have attended (Hawaiian craft making and exhibitions, exhibitions of outrigger making and sailing, traditional games and other exhibitions) it’s dinner and the show, so just be aware of that going in. All in all a really good night and my daughter had no reaction and she ate some of everything that was labeled gf so all was well.
