They do have a gluten free menu if you ask. My waitress Gabby and the food staff were cautious and very helpful. I also have 24 allergies including milk & milk protein. I was ordering a chicken meal, & the cook staff let her know the sauce had milk. She came and let me know, so they did a gluten free, non spicy house seasoning on it for me instead. As I also have a pepper allergy. I was there on Sunday & no reactions yet and it's Wednesday. I let the manager know how appreciative I was of their caution & that I'd write a review. I also had the shrip cocktail appetizer, and sweet potato no butter, and a side salad no crotons.croutons.

First visit here since I was diagnosed Celiac. Used to go from time to time but never felt it lived up to the original main restaurant in Clocktower Square. Frankly each time I have gone lately it continues to feel more like a dinner than a nice seafood restaurant.
Waitress was Clueless when I mentioned Celiac. When I said gluten she started to explain to me that I just can't eat anything that is breaded. Hmmm. I started to ask about the grilled salmon and she interrupted to say "Fish doesn't have gluten." I continued with my question about if was prepared gluten free and she proudly proclaimed "Oh yes, they do not put salt on anything!" Oh my...
I asked if the Miso soup was gluten free and she said "I will look at the thing on the back (Label on back of can?) and walked away. Came back and said the soup was gf. I ordered steamed snow crab (I literally used to get better at Hooters back in the day), steamed asparagus (limp, mushy, bland) and bake potato (good). To be fair to them my companion had the grilled salmon and reported it was quite good. And of course their signature clam chowder and sourdough bread were also reported to be excellent.
Reviews on here from a couple years ago mention how knowledgeable the staff was then. I agree with the other recent review that staff knowledge was dismal. Between that and ever increasingly downward quality of food and the overall 'feel' of the place, I will stick to the original location in Des Moines.

Staff absolutely NOT trained on GF. I was directly told a dish was gluten free and had to learn the hard way hours later beyond sick.

No gf menu, but staff is always knowledgeable. They have gf soy sauce. I am celiac and have never had a problem there.

LOVE Waterfront for sushi and seafood. Just tell them you need it gluten free and they clean the surface for you. We like to get take out and we will ask for gf soy sauce, but we don’t trust it unless we watch them pour it.

They do not have a gluten free menu but their staff are extremely knowledgeable and accommodating! I had a steak and it was amazing.
