I admit, I expect more from Whole Foods when it comes to alternative diet issues. But it's the store I like least for GF. And the deli? For several months I went to a class right after work with my daughter, and since she wanted vegetarian options, Whole Foods was on the way. I only ever found 1 deli item I could eat: a caprese salad. The brown rice, veg, and salmon combo? Not GF. Sushi? Not GF. One lousy salad, that was it. Mickey D's and Wendy's have more GF options!

My favorite store to find gluten-free EVERYTHING in! Yes, they're a bit more expensive, but their quality and selection are worth every penny.

Great selection - found King Arthur GF Baking Mix here when all the other stores only had all purpose flour. The woman who answered the phone was clearly very knowledge about the different types of flours, and clarified exactly what we were looking for before she went to check the stock.

What can I say? It's Whole Foods! This one has a great bulk section. I do wish the in-house bakery and prepared food was gluten-free accessible, though. Also, some products that they tag for shoppers as gluten-free really aren't, and some they don't tag as gluten-free really are, so don't go by their tags.

I have to agree with the earlier review. I cannot purchase fresh fish or meat at this location. See the pictures that I posted, prepared food containing wheat and gluten products in both the sea food and meat cases that is always either touching or evidence of actual contamination on the fresh meat next to it. I brought this gluten contamination issue to the store's manager and she told me they "cannot guarantee gluten free on any of their fresh fish and meat departments"! And that I should ask them to get my selection from the back. That's all well and good, but the scales and prep areas are still contaminated. This wasn't gluten related I don't believe, but minutes after eating "fresh" red snapper I because extremely ill, not being able to hold down dinner. I made a call to the store and I was then contacted by a third party, apparently I was the only one who got sick eating their red snapper that night. If you have celiac, be extremely cautious when buying fresh meat and fish from this location.

They seem to move everything around every month or so. Like everything! I know they are remodeling, but I get lost every time I go in. I wish they had a g-f section. I just tried to special order some g-f beer that I had bought there before, and they never called me back. Sigh. All they have is Omission, the barley beer. I'm a shareholder, and I guess I know why their stock is so bad. Hee hee. They have a lot of competition!!!!

Salad bar was pretty bland tasting- though the black bean salad was pretty good. The hot bar did not have too many options-But you could find something. The bakery had a very limited selection but the two items were on a shelf labeled gf and were prepackaged. I did however enjoy that the sushi bar had gf soy sauce and the sushi was pretty good. The shelf items were pretty good- but they didn't have too much more than my regular grocery store. I was also hoping they would have more bread options than they did.

This review is for the deli not the grocery store itself. Let start by saying you would think they know.. They don't! Ordered a burger with gluten free bun. Per the girl behind the counter their fries are gluten free (not gf). I asked the girl if it was a shared or dedicated French fryer. The girl behind the counter told me it didn't matter as I can't get sick from a shared fryer. I who has cd didn't know this and it's her job to tell me I won't get sick. I should of ran and never looked back!!!! The guy next to her informed me they were out gluten free buns so I asked to do a lettuce wrap (I'm use to eating a burger without a bun so I'm perfectly happy with a lettuce wrap). When I picked up my burger the girl gave me wonderful news they had found a gluten free bun. After paying for my meal I sat at the tables near the door. I took one bite.. Best burger ever.... Amazing bun.. Within minutes I start to feel the pain... I ask my husband to take a bite... He gives me the bad news. The bun looks and tastes just like his gluten bun. I'm only 2 or 3 bites in... OMG.. I'm having a bad reaction. I'm in so much pain and now I need to get to the bathroom. The worst part is I'm having such a bad reaction that I can't complain or even ask for a refund for my burger. I have to time it so I can make it home. Words can't describe the pain and agony I felt because some girl decided it's ok to switch a gluten free bun with a gluten bun. I paid over $10 for a burger my body has yet to forget. I learned a valuable lesson 1) never buy prepared food at whole foods deli 2) take 1 bite of any prepared food (I didn't make) then wait 5 min to see if I react (no matter how hungry you are)

I am reviewing the food court. It's not celiac friendly. If you can tolerate cross contamination, it's ok. They do have everything labelled. However, I didn't trust the labels after I saw poached eggs on English muffins and yet wheat was not listed as an allergen. The staff makes it clear that if you are celiac they do not recommend you eat there. They were not at all accommodating.

I like having this close to work since my grocery options in the downtown area are so limited. They have a great selection of gluten free grocery items which generally cost a bit more than some of our other local stores but they also have a lot of sales and coupons so if you watch for those you can get some good deals. They also carry locally made GF products like New Cascadia bread which is some of the best bread I've had. They have GF sandwiches in their deli (I think they use their own bread, it's really good bread) but beware if you are celiac or very sensitive they often use the same utensils and if you get a grilled Panini they use the same Panini press. The hot GF pizza slices are very tasty but they heat it up using the same paddle and brick oven they use to cook the regular pizza.
