We had our first "just ok" meal at Wildwood yesterday. The Chicken Fried Steak that we routinely drive from Georgetown to enjoy just wasn't what we've had before. In the past it seemed homemade, this was more like a preformed frozen patty.

Having said that, we'll definitely be back. Wildwood has always been awesome and as I read the few negative comments on this thread I felt sorry for the staff there. I am allergic to dairy like many Celiacs, I don't even attempt to eat dairy free at a restaurant... that is just silly. A restaurant being gluten free does not make it corn free, dairy free or free of anything else you might be allergic to!

As a GF community we have to be very careful that we do not annoy all restaurants out of even trying to serve us. Two groups cause a lot of problems, those that eat gluten free as a diet and confuse the issue and the small minority that are unreasonable in their expectations and complain like little babies is they do get sick.

If you are Celiac and you eat at a restaurant you are taking a risk... that is all there is to it. If you get sick that's on you, not the restaurant.

I'm very thankful to have a dedicated gf option like Wildwood Bakehouse! The fact that the food is awesome is a bonus.
