Winslow's Tavern

This is a classic Cape Cod restaurant, very nice setting and decor, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Where else to eat Wellfleet oysters than in Wellfleet. They do have a GF menu, which is a plus. I would give the restaurant an advice not to present it the way they do. Only one item on the menu is “golden” (yellow highlights) which means GF on its own, the rest is all modified. It’s so disappointing to approach it that way. You feel like you are compromising quality and don’t get the value off the other diners. You should learn from Mac’s Seafood where every main course is GF! Know your competition and what is possible. You can do better!

I had a wonderful experience here! The hostess was also celiac, and she gave me a menu clearly marked with gf options. I ordered a burger without a bun--keep in mind that their fryer is contaminated, so I got a salad instead of fries. They also had a gluten-free desert option, flourless chocolate cake, which was delicious!

Had lunch here today. Wonderful outdoor seating. Our waitress was very helpful and charming. Upon request, will provide you their menu marked with gluten free items. Most options are GF or can be modified to be. (No GF bread, though.) Great experience.

A for atmosphere - shady outdoor patio seating in the middle of town. They do offer several gluten free options on their menu however I got the lobster risotto cake and it wasn't great for the money -$25 for lunch. Pricey place.
