Overall, I had a great experience at Wood Tavern. The menu does not indicate what’s gluten free, but we called in advance and were assured that there were naturally gluten free items on the menu. The server was also knowledgeable on what did not have gluten and what could be modified to be gluten free (removing bread, etc). We split a delicious seared ahi tuna salad that they plated separately for us. I was deciding between the seafood stew (remove the garlic toast for gluten free) and the double cut pork chop (no gluten) and went with the pork chop. It was really good and rich and I had enough leftover for another meal.
The only snag of the entire meal was during dessert. There were 2 options that were gluten free friendly: a valhrhona chocolate mousse cake that the server let us know was flourless and also ice cream/sorbet. We went a scoop of ice cream and a scoop of sorbet thinking it would be a safe bet. However, when the scoops came out there were cookies on top. I told the staff I have celiac and she asked if they should send out fresh scoops. She came back shortly after with new scoops sans cookies. I double checked the menu and didn’t see anything about cookies and was surprised the server didn’t mention it. Other than that, it was a great dining experience and will definitely go back!
