incredible variety of foods not found anywhere else and so delicious!!! I am so sensitive the minimum government gluten free standard PPM is too high for me, and I have always felt very safe here. Been here multiple times never a problem, which is rare due to my sensitivity.
I have frequented Wow a couple of times in about a 2 year period. I am both GF and have other allergies. I have gotten sick from their food, more than likely from cross contamination. The last time I ate at WoW was last year, 2015 in September. I promised myself I would NEVER go back. There desserts muffins were disgusting. They were dry, no flavor, and you could tell old, not fresh, I ended up throwing them away, and they were not inexpensive. The sandwich I purchased was not bad, which is why I am giving them 2 stars. Customer service though was horrible!! I also ordered cheese bread with a dipping sauce (marinara) asked the person who was taking the order if he was sure it was gluten free and he adamantly told me yes! When I got sick and called back to speak to someone else told me that there was not an item on the gluten free menu that had cheese bread!!! Go figure. I didn't want to give this review but it's just not true that Wow has NEVER gotten anyone sick, yes they have, it was me! I would make sure that if you order from them you are feeling confident in who ever is taking your order that they do not mix the other side of the restaurant with your order or you'll regret it.
Wonderful! My almost 6 year old hasn't been able to enjoy a good slice of pizza for close to a year and it was her birthday request. We drove an hour and it was so worth the drive. The gf cheese bread and gf Chicago stuffed pizza were incredible. Everyone enjoyed them. Our Detroit style pizza was slow to come out (we were told it takes three rotations in the pizza oven, so just make note) but honestly, it could have not even arrived and I still would have been please because you can't put a time limit or price on a child's face, who is finally getting to enjoy a forbidden food. She even was given a spoonful of the chocolate butter cream icing that her sisters didn't get as well, so she felt like a queen. Keep up the amazing job. And we will keep driving to visit.
took more time then we have thought but we were VERY pleased we waited. We got a club and it was amazing.
Like the other reviews say. there is a long wait for the food. This is because everything is made to order. It is well worth the wait.
For about 5 months I followed wow on Facebook. I couldn't wait to finally visit. The result... Have not been glutened this bad in over 10 years. I get severe chest pains and gi issues. I tried to let the owner, Steve, know. He was not there when we went, but I wanted to let him know as an FYI. He basically called me a liar. I googled reviews after he told me he never got anyone sick, and found that was not true. I suggest maybe going when he is there, but this place was a huge disappointment and the owners attitude towards the situation was less than pleasant. I will not be going back. Glad others have had a great experience... Am jealous really... But for the money I spent on the pizza ( that ended up being severely burnt on the bottom), I won't risk that mistake again As a follow up to Steve responding to me regarding my review... You DID hear from me. I private messages you a few times. your first response to me was that you basically did not believe me. Still wanted to talk to you because I DO believe in giving people a chance to make it right. I know mistakes happen and I always give second chances. When I tried calling you a few times, and messaging you again, you told me you did not know when you would be available to talk because a friend passed away. You had NO INTEREST in finding out about my experience and how to make it right. THAT is what was very upsetting to me. So, I'm sorry, you HAVE heard of me. I have nothing against you. I WANTED to support you. I know how hard it is to be in the food industry But please don't try to pretend that you have never heard of me and that I'm randomly trying to take you down. I told people about my experience and even suggested that if people go, maybe to make sure you are there. I wish you luck, as I hope all GF places succeed. But I was extremely disappointed in how you handled my concern. And after googling your business, I found out I was not alone. I am NOT a new celiac btw. Almost 15 years. 1/16/16
Great place and great menu choices! We had to go with deep dish - Chicago style, chicken Parmesan grinder, Cuban grinder, Motz bread and many desserts (family of six splitting everything). We would have tried the stuffed shells or ravioli but they don't do fried items on Sunday. 😩 maybe next time...
Fantastic, even if there is a wait it's well worth it. Owner and staff is very knowledgeable about cross contamination - you can feel safe with anything you eat here, something you can't say for many places 'out'. Also great with additional food allergies. The only place in town I trust to get gluten free pizza from.
I sent my boyfriend on a quest to find GF and DF chocolate cake, and he found WOW. I have to say, the cake was definitely WOW. The owner has a lot of variety and is very aware of allergens. Top rating!
Recently diagnosed with celiac disease, I've been quietly grieving the long list of foods I will never again enjoy. WOW brings me out of my funk with an excellent GF pizza. Is it the same as the pie next door at Guido's? Not quite, but it's better than any other pizza substitutes I've tried, and it's served with little to no chance of cross-contamination. If they ever add GF sausage to the menu, my joy would be complete.
Extremely slow service. Only go if you have 2 hours to spend.
I absolutely love this place. The owner is so friendly and very aware of celiac disease and necessary precautions. best pizza I have ever had too (even before eating gluten free). I wish one was closer to my house.. But whenever I'm in town, I stop here. thank you!
The best gluten free, soy free, dairy free pizza I've ever had!
Incredibily slow service. After an hour of waiting for our sandwiches the cook came out and said they didn't have cabbage to make the coleslaw for my wife's ruben.
This place was great! The owner's mom is celiac and was really knowledgable about food allergies. Crust and sauce was unbelievable!
WOW is right!!! I had the Stromboli and it was excellent!!!!!!!!! Met the owner/baker and he has won awards for his gf pizza and breads. Once you taste them you'll know why! Separate kitchen for gluten free and as he says he started it being gluten free but now he makes allergy free foods. Carries a line of desserts that are hand made as well as the muffins and breads he makes, gluten free allergy free.
Excellent pizza and Stromboli! Best GF crust I've had! Pricey. I was disappointed that they don't serve the whole menu after 5:00pm. I really wanted to try the fried pickles. I'm visiting from the east coast and made the effort to drive an extra hour to go there only to find I couldn't get certain items. Giving 4 out of 5 stars because of the menu limitations not the taste.
This place is the ultimate gf pizza and dessert hotspot in my opinion. The owner is extremely courteous, knowledgable, and truly puts customers first. I usually get the gf Chicago deep dish supreme pizza which is to die for! Always worth the hefty price tag and the wait time. Fellow Numbskull customers need to understand they sometimes need to make the dough fresh from scratch if they haven't gotten to it yet, and it takes the right amount of time to cook a deep dish perfectly. So it may take some time to cook you impatient Neanderthals! I live 2 hours away and look forward to visiting relatives with anticipation of eating here.
I stopped in for a sandwich on my lunch break. I didn't realize that they'd be making the bread to order! It took a while because it was made fresh, and it looked like they put a lot of care into keeping everything celiac safe. I would come back to try their pizza.
My family and I come from Australia but we are living in Ann Arbor for the next 4 months. We are currently visiting Lansing on business and just came home from WOW with out wheat. OH MY CRACKERS... BEST GF PIZZA EVER!!!!!! There was a raging party in my mouth!!!! We have tried a lot of GF pizza in the last 5 years (since being diagnosed) and no other pizza has come close (in Australia and in the USA). Not only did the pizza taste amazing, but the owner was really lovely and the eatery was really cute and comfortable. As other reviewers have mentioned, you will have to wait longer than the traditional 'fast food' type pizzerias (our pizza took about 15-20 min), but I assure you it is worth it... it will make you realise that good GF pizza cannot be made in quicker time! Unlike wheat pizza bases that can sit around all day these are made to order! We will definitely be making the 1 hour drive from Ann Arbor before we leave.... If only they delivered to Australia.
I normally love this place for their certified gluten free baked goods. Today I ordered a 22$ gluten free pizza and somehow was glutened. I read that it was celiac safe so I assumed the pizza was safe. It isn't. Not looking forward to being sick for the next three days :(. Disappointed.
Hands down best gluten free pizza I've ever had.
Delicious pizza, not just a frozen one like most places seem to do. Garlic breadsticks look delicious but were a tad dry, but still good. Highly recommend.
WOW is an attachment to Guido's pizza. For those of you who have not been there, they have a separated full kitchen that is 100% gluten free. I have only ordered the 14in gf crust, with light dairy free cheese, and their garlic bread sticks. Everything was phenomenal! The crust was thick, and looked and tasted like a real life pizza! The dairy free cheese melted, and was not gross! Everything also reheated well the next day. They did bring out the gf (dairy free!) bread sticks with Parmesan cheese on them, unfortunately. but we noticed right away, said something, and they brought us out a new batch as soon as possible. We decided to eat in, and the wait time was 50-60 minutes! But, I assure you it was 100% worth it. My gluten eating party ordered Guido's regular (non allergy) pizza, and said that it was pretty much a standard pizza. Nothing special. Far better than Pizza hut or Dominos, but not as great as their favorite chain. Typical male perspective!
I had an Italian sub sandwich here which was the best I've had in all my celiac years and it was huge! I enjoyed talking to the owner for awhile and also tried the onion rings and desserts which were delicious. Not to be missed!
Me and my mom order couple things and they wait was half hour.
Awesome! So knowledgeable and fantastic food. Owner was amazing. Wish I lived closer to enjoy it more. I will find a way to go back.
Best gluten free pizza in Michigan! Service is great! All workers are extremely knowledgeable about Gluten allergies!
Best pizza I have had, better than most non-gluten free pizzas. Must eat here!
Great place for GF. Also has greet desert options.
What a great place to get pizza! Do you miss full-size pizzas with a bit more crust than the usual anemic glutenfree thin crust? Wouldn't it be nice to get lots of toppings instead of the sparse offerings of other places? This place does all of that and more. What's even better is there is NO CROSS CONTAMINATION. This place is 100% gluten free. Wow is right... This place truly lives up to its name.
Delicious! Definitely very knowledgable and careful to not cross contaminate! And the food makes you forget you are gluten free! The grinder was to die for! The Chicago style pizza was awesome! If you are gluten free, this is a must try! The baked goods (by Brown) were great too! Very moist and free of some major allergens such as gluten, soy, and dairy!
Great food and great service. Caters to you and your dietary needs.
AMAZING pizza!!!!! Wish I lived closer so I could come back all the time!
My wife and I just moved to the Lansing Area and happened to drive by the WOW restaurant, and we immediately Googled it when we got home. As people having gluten sensitivities, we were elated that such a restaurant existed. Today, I tried my first pizza from WOW and all I can say afterward is "WOW" because it was the best pizza to ever tickle my taste buds!
The food here is great. Haven't been disappointed yet!
Definitely go here! Steve is wonderfully accommodating! The GF menu is both exciting and large! Expect your order to take some time, but know that it's well worth it!
WOW was closed for the day when we arrived but guido's is attached and had the subs and gf pizza. Great club sub. It was hot and served on flat bread. From other side of the state, but will stop back again just to try the deep dish gf pizza.
Great resource, sure would be nice to purchase those items and cook a home cooked meal.
Best gluten free pizza ever! I also had a taste of some bake goods offered from this site and they were amazing. Thank you so much for offering gluten free and great tasting food to Lansing!
Wow!!! The pizza here is the best I've ever had, thank you thank you thank you :)
Wonderful service for GF deep dish! Well done!
Excellent food and the only true gluten free facility in our area...all the rest ate too close to cross contamination
Best GF pizza anywhere. So many options. Wow also has great GF chicken wings and onion rings.
Gluten Free and Dairy free cheese. My non Celiac teenage boy ate two pieces and loved it. Good stuff!
The absolute most delicious GF and caesin free pizza you will find! The dough is made from scratch, call ahead for pizza and be patient. The owner is very pleasant and helpful.
Best pizza ever been all over the US can't get over how good this pizza is.
Love the pizza here! Best anywhere!
Chef was very friendly and accomodating. Over the course of two days, as we were in town for a basketball tournament, I tried their burger, turkey deli sandwich, deep dish pizza, mozzerella breadsticks, and onion rings. My family all ate with me so I only tried a bite or two of most of these. I'm not such a pig...LOL. All were great, especially the white bread he makes in house for the deli sammies.
Best gluten free pizza, by far! I suggest this place to everyone, regardless of their location. The owner's mother has celiac, so he understands cross contamination and always makes a point to say hello. Plus, he's the only certified gluten free chef in the state of Michigan!
Amazing gluten free pizza and stromboli. Owner and staff are excellent with celiac customers and other allergies and understand cross contamination. Owner opened up GF resturaunt next door called WOW (With Out Wheat). Everything is delicious!!
Real gf pizza! Not one of those pre-made crusts.
Has an entire gluten free menu with pizza and sandwiches. The owner is expanding soon and adding a gluten free deli. The pizza is great for both those gluten free and with gluten.
