I’ve had multiple reaction free meals at Yoka Zuna! I’m a big fan of their happy hour, when they feature half price rolls.

They have a nice gf menu including gf tempura and most of their sauces are gf as well. The cauliflower tempura app was delicious! Server was attentive to it as well.

This is a weekly go to and a family favorite. The sweet and sour gf chicken is SO good and they will make gf fried rice to go with it. No shortage on flavor. Gf soy sauce is available.
They also have gf fish tacos, rice noodle bowls, sushi, edamame and large bowls of miso soup.
The servers have had mixed opinions on various visits as to the gf nature of the miso soup. I’m severely celiac and I have never had a reaction to it.

They have a separate gluten free menu. They had plenty of non-sushi options for kids as well as sushi options!

Sushi was delicious. They have a gluten free menu available that also list what items may be at risk for cross contamination. They also have gluten free soy sauce!

My parents and I had a wonderful experience here. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and attentive. He made sure I had a disposable soy sauce cup and made sure the sushi was made with no cross contamination. The sushi was very good and I had no reaction to it.

as long as you talk to them about your allergy they are careful. it is a little more risky ordering delivery and they tend to forget the GF soy sauce when getting delivery but i like to call and remind them of my allergy and ask for the soy sauce after i place the order. my brother is a chef there and has celiac so he is definitely a big help for us celiacs. they do have a shared frier but they only fry one or two things with gluten and clean their frier very often as well as change the oil very often so i have never reacted from this, as well as if you ask they’ll change the oil for you. they bread things in a cornstarch breading when you order GF and it’s actually pretty good. the sweet and sour chicken is awesome.

I ate there in person once and I was fine. I have tried takeout twice and got gluten both times. That's strike two for me. The food was delicious, but I won't risk it again. I guess that they are more cautious about gluten contamination if you are dining in than they are with take out orders.

i used to work at yokozuna downtown. I want to let anyone who is planning on eating there be aware if you get anything tempura, it will be fried with the normal items and anything cooked will most likely be on a previously used pan and is most likely not cleaned before switching to the gluten free meal. if you don’t have a severe allergy then the restaurant is very yummy but just be aware

Fiancé and I came to this place after seeing 5 star reviews from this site. She requested a GF menu and was excited to see tempura shrimp rolls. She elected to go with the dilly roll which had tempura shrimp in it. About halfway through the roll, she wanted to order just a side dish of the tempura shrimp. After ordering, the waiter came back and told us the kitchen does not change oil for GF???? I immediately asked to see the manager and we explained the situation and what we were told from the kitchen and waiter. She assured us that wasn’t the case but would immediately check with the kitchen. 15 minutes later, she returned and told us that she should be fine, but she has an EPI pen in case she needed it??????? When asked if we could order the shrimp, she said she wouldn’t recommend it. Just another example of an establishment trying to climb on the niche market of GF food, but not giving a damn about their customer base or the critical nature of understanding and education of their staff to prevent a trip to the hospital. We will not be back.

Wife has celiac so we have to be really careful about where she eats. This place has wonderful gluten free options and their staff has clearly been trained in cross contamination as they will warn you which options are likely for CC. Avoid the fried foods if you have celiac or gluten sensitivity because they're made in the same fryer as the gluten ones.

Food was delicious. I tend to like “real” sushi, verses rolls so was a little disappointed they don’t offer my favorites like Japanese snapper and sea urchin, BUT the quality of the rolls was very tasty and the waitress was extremely knowledgeable about gluten and made a point to tell the sushi bar to prepare mine separately. Great quality, delicious, and I did not get sick. The waitress even gave me a free sake shot because I couldn’t eat the fortune cookie.
