Amazing sandwiches, separate gf bread toaster, etc. It is a takeout place, and unaffiliated with 808bistro (only has 2 salads marked gf), but 808bistro let me bring my 808deli sandwich over to eat there when my husband ordered from 808bistro.

Unassuming and delicious deli takeout counter! GF breads and operator said anything could be made GF except the meatballs (obviously). Excellent options for a stop and go.

I decided to eat here before our flight home. No matter how many times I go to a restaurant I specify I am celiac and get very ill if I ingest gluten, even if by cc. This time I told them I was flying home soon and needed them to take precautions to please not cross contaminate. Got my sandwich, tested with Nima and it detected gluten. I took it back in and the manager made me a new sandwich herself, this time making sure it was prepared and toasted on tin foil. The second time no gluten was detected, however, it could have been a miserable flight home had I not tested the first time.

Went back again March 2023. The lady at the counter let the Kitchen know I was celiac and to use precaution when preparing my sandwich. I tested It with my Nima and gluten was found again. They refunded my money but I’m not going back. There are much safer places to eat in the area.

Ordered the “Porkie” with broccoli salad on the side was delicious. As we were waiting one of the ladies started to make their pudding it was the vanilla base but they added banana for me and put the macadamia nut cookies on the side. So, I could give them to my mom who had travelled with me she doesn’t have gluten issues. A win win for the both of us.

I react to yeast as well as gluten, so I cannot eat most gluten free breads. They made a salad of Romaine lettuce and chicken salad for me. It was delicious. My husband had roast beef and cheese with regular bread and he said it was one of the best he ever had. Expect to wait in line.

Read the good experiences that others had, so we went in for a sandwich for my celiac son. We explained that he had celiac and needed gluten free. We ordered a kid’s Turkey & cheese on GF bread. Nima sensor detected gluten, so we went back in with sensor. They said the kitchen was busy and remade the sandwich. The second sandwich also detected gluten. We will not be back.

Had a pesto chicken panini and they took extra precautions to make sure it was safe for me (didn’t cut it and it arrived wrapped in the foil it was grilled in).

Ate here twice on our trip and didn’t get sick! They prepared the sandwich on top of paper, and were careful. Sandwiches were very tasty too! There were only a couple of the sandwiches they couldn’t do gluten free.

I had the best sandwich from here on house made gluten free bread. I was told I could have any of the sandwiches on the menu except the meatball one. I ended up choosing the spicy chicken bacon ranch sandwich. Absolutely delicious and I did not get sick. Yum!

My husband and I ate here 3 times and i never got sick. They knew what celiac was, which is always a bonus. I had toasted sandwiches each time. They wrap them in tin foil so your food doesn't come into contact with the grill.

They don't have a ton of options for sides, but was quite full off of the sandwiches. They also have vegetarian and vegan options.

Incredible sandwich!! I’m only in Kihei for a few days, but already planning to go back. Porkie panini on gf bread, with sweet chili dipping sauce... best sandwich I’ve ever had! Highly recommend!

The Porkie sandwich was amazing. All the sandwiches except the meatball sandwich can be made gluten free. They wrap everything in foil so there's a very small chance of cross contamination. When I asked about the pudding the cashier told me it's not safe because they put cookies in it but she did have one in the back that did not have pudding in it. I ate here twice and didn't get sick.

Delicious! Gluten free bread toasted with turkey. The cranberry aioli made the sandwich. Didn't get sick at all.

My entire family has to eat gluten free, and all 6 of us loved them! We tried the chicken salad, southern squealy, chicken pesto, and turkey Reuben. All great choices. We wish we found this earlier on in our vacation because we would've come often!

We came here 3 times during our stay. It is a perfect spot to get a to go sandwich to take to the beach. The first time I got a hot pastrami. Very good. The second two times I got a veggie sandwich (herb cream cheese, sprouts, avocado, cucumber, tomato, lettuce, Swiss cheese) and added turkey. Satisfying and delicious without feeling too heavy. Perfect for our picnics.

tried the porky sandwich and the chicken pesto sandwich, both wonderful, but the pistachio mousse was DIVINE!

After reading the other reviews I had high hopes for this place. It's hard to find a deli place that is both gf and celiac safe. I ordered a gf sandwich and informed the employee I had celiac and to please make my sandwich separately. She gave me a blank stare and said "i guess we can do that". After waiting over 15minutes (where 2 other people after me had been served) I asked if she knew when it would be ready. I got a "it will be ready in 5". When I got my sandwich I noticed the bread was different (it was not Udis bread). She said it was gf bread. I took the sandwich home and realized it was not gf bread but plain white bread. I paid over $11 for this non-gf sandwich after specifically ordering it. Celiac's beware of this place!
