I fell in love with this restaurant! The staff is very knowledgeable on what is celiac safe and ensures the correct measures are taken. Lots of options and a fun atmosphere!!

We went for lunch and sat outside in a really cool covered area. I have celiac and had the jambalaya which was the best I’ve ever had. Our server recommended that or the gumbo which are both gluten free and they are well known for both dishes. I didn’t have any reaction and would definitely go back

I (very sensitive Celiac) was really excited to go here due to the good reviews. I had the shrimp n grits and a bit of gumbo. Both were excellent and I had no reaction 🙏 However, reviews led me to believe the beautiful house made potato chips were gf, THEY ARE NOT! And there was not many other gf options. But I was happy to have some authentic and tasty southern fare for lunch.

A few GF options. Stopped by for brunch and I had a parfait and salad. Their shrimp and grits were GF and the jambalaya. Last time I was here I had the chicken salad wrap without the wrap and on a bed of lettuce instead. Would return!

With a clearly marked menu, this is a nice place with great food. The dairy free options are limited. They seem to put butter in most dishes (even the rice). I was able to eat the portabello mushroom and stay gf and df and it was very good.

Beautiful upscale dining experience with well marked menu! The staff was very knowledgable and the menu had all GF options marked. The waitress also explained what dishes could easily be made gluten free by leaving off certain items. I got the pork chop with a maple bourbon glaze, apples, sweet potatoes, and collard greens (best I’ve ever had…!) and the shrimp and grits (grits are GF!!!) to start!

Wonderful experience here! The waiter was very knowledgeable regarding celiac safe gluten free offerings. Dessert menu didn’t offer much for GF diners, but the meal was so delicious that we didn’t have room anyway!

I explained to the server that I was celiac before ordering the scallops. She dismissed my concerns about cross contamination and said it was fine, the dish was GF. I immediately threw up afterwards and had the worst stomach pain of my life.

Very nice atmosphere with great foods and great selection of entrées. My husband and I got the duck confit and the gumbo so we could try both. Absolutely delicious food. Would definitely go back again next time we are in town.

Outstanding!! Very knowledgeable about celiac & CC. We had the BBQ shrimp and grits appetizer and the best bone in pork chop. It was so tender and juicy. Wonderful atmosphere and meal.

We ended up here because Husk couldn’t seat additional walk-ins and I’m glad we did! Food was incredible and GF marked on the menu, they also could adjust short rib and a few other items on the menu just by removing fried onions etc. To make it gluten free. I had the pork chop, sweet potatoes, and collared greens - it was flavorful and delicious - one of the most delicious pork chops I’ve ever had. Never got sick, and staff is very knowledgeable on Celiac Disease. Felt confident here

Excellent, celiac safe meal! Waitress was very knowledgeable and personable, noted extra safety on our order. Menu has entrees designated GF. Only dessert would have been vanilla ice cream so we went elsewhere.

Amazing service, food and ambiance. The shrimp and grits was the best I have ever had in my life. People there were very nice about the celiac and worked around it, making notes to the chef, would go again.

We had an absolutely lovely experience at 82 Queen. The service, atmosphere (on the patio), and food was magnificent. The staff was knowledgeable about celiac and able to inform me about parts of an entree not marked on the menu as GF contained gluten and was able to exclude it from the dish to make it safe. We had the shrimp and grits, gumbo, and surf and turf (without the fries).

I made the reservation based on the fact that it had great reviews on my Celiac app. And that this restaurant has been in Charleston for a very long time. When I made the res. I filled out a special request about needing gluten free options. When we were seated our waitress made me feel less than confident that she know anything about what celiac was let alone making good suggestions. I had to ask her to please go ask the chef questions that she should have known. I ordinarily would have just left but given that it was a late res on a Saturday night, I was afraid that we wouldn’t get in anywhere else. I took two gluten ease and said a prayer...i ordered a gluten free Caesar salad and shrimp and grits. I have not gotten sick ...yet. Hope i don’t get hit in a day or so...When the food arrived, mine was lukewarm :( not the meal we had planned on but overall not awful

The food and service were amazing; I ordered from the daily specials menu. The kitchen was very willing to make the market fish for the day GF. There were no bread or dessert options; however, the food and service made up for the lack! Highly recommended!!

Amazing atmosphere with wonderful food!!! I had the marinated cucumber and tomato salad and was pleasantly surprised how large it was, and SO delicious!! Since the salad wasn’t enough, I got their spinach and mushroom risotto.. YUM!!! Absolutely delicious, the server made me feel very safe. Didn’t get sick and I’m a super sensitive celiac. Only giving 4 stars because I wish they had more options (most gf dishes had shrimp, which I’m also allergic to)
Our waitress has celiac and guided our menu choices. Delicious duck!
Yes
The food was excellent—the risotto was out of this world! However, my server assured me that all distilled liquor is GF, and I know that celiacs have reacted to wheat based liquors, so that was disappointing. Proceed with caution on drinks if you are very sensitive.
Server didn’t seem terribly aware of what was gluten free even with a smaller menu but the Barbecue Bourbon Shrimp and Grits were gluten free and I had her check on the jambalaya since I had read about it on this app. I’m sure there were a few other things that were probably Gf or could be made that way but my Celiac cousin and I both had the shrimp and grits and they were great!
I ordered gluten free dinner, but it came out with bread. They did take it back, and made me another entree.
This is an awesome place! I have celiac coupled with a dairy allergy which can make finding restaurants on vacation a chore but 82 Queen was very accommodating! I spoke privately with our waiter and he assured me they have very safe practices for their allergy sensitive food. I had jambalaya and the veggie sucatash and felt wonderful! I would definitely recommend this place!
Yes
I took my clients here for dinner last night and had a great experience. I have Celiac and while my waitress Tiffany was unsure of some things she confirmed with the chef on what could be made gluten free. I had the tomato soup (unfortunately their famous she-crab soup isn't GF), BBQ shrimp and grits as an appetizer and a white fish they had as one of the specials of the day. I wish I could of just gotten the BBQ shrimp and grits for my main course as the fish was only meh.
This place is NOT gluten free. They are not knowledgable about gluten at all. I did the standard quiz with the waiter regarding soy sauce, marinating, etc, and he just kept saying they could make anything gluten free, which tells me it's just a joke to them. After ordering a salad because I thought they were idiots, they brought it out with crutons - so I asked for it to go while the rest of my party ate, and I just left the to-go bag on my chair.
No
There was no gluten-free menu and the young woman who helped us make our to-go order (we had just arrived in Charleston, it was late, and our baby was exhausted) didn't seem to know what gluten was. She finally ascertained that the jambalaya had no wheat in it. Now, the jambalaya was AMAZING - with more seafood than rice. But it was $26 for a moderate (not tiny, but certainly not generous) portion that I ate with trepidation. It had been two days and I don't seem to be suffering any problems. However, we chose this place due to its listing on here and the statement that it had a g.f. menu, which it does NOT. Instead, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE go to Poogan's Porch, two doors down. They have g.f. items marked on the menu (and are willing to modify other items to make them g.f.). I had the most perfect meal in recent memory there. Our experience at Poogan's Porch was what we were HOPING for from 82 Queen, but did not receive. I told the general manager of Poogan's Porch about Find Me Gluten Free and he is going to submit a listing for the app.
No
I don't recommend this place at all if you are very sensitive. The staff were neither knowledgeable or respectful of my situation. I had no confidence that it would be good and it wasn't. I was told the Jambalaya was safe and it wasn't . No GF menu. And, the bathroom was dirty. Not a great experience at all.
No
Delicious! No gluten-free menu, but they were happy to point out the gluten-free dishes (which made up most of the menu). The shrimp & grits were fantastic!
Amazing GF food, knowledgable staff and fantastic wine!
