Says gluten free but not really! I got mixed messages from staff whether the gluten-free pasta was cooked in the same water as the regular pasta. They said they had gluten-free eggplant rollatini and when I asked if it was cooked in the same oil as the gluten foods they said it was. I can't trust this restaurant anymore. We need to demand more from these restaurants in providing safe eating environments for those of us with gluten intolerance and celiac!

I have given this restaurant too many chances, because their food tastes so good, but I have been glutened every time from their “gluten free” options. The last time I ordered GF pasta, which I was told “we only have GF Penne, is that ok?” Only to have a piece of spaghetti mixed into my bowl. When I pointed it out, I got an eye roll. Great food, NOT Celiac friendly.

No more gluten free menus and none of the front end employees could agree on what was gluten free. I am never going back. My husband and I went here for his birthday. We called on the phone to ask a question and we were brushed off because “there was too much going on and they were too busy”. We decided to go there to eat figuring that maybe they just had a lot of pick up orders. When we got there it was empty! I asked for a gluten free which they don’t have anymore but was told they could do pizza or pasta gluten free. I ordered the pizza with was not even fully cooked! I also asked if the cheese was pasteurized and the waitress asked the manager who responded with I think, he eventually did go check but was in no hurry nor did he seem to care about my question. The manager also checked in with every other table besides ours. I also had to wait over 10 minutes for my water cup to be filled.

Saw the mixed reviews but wanted to try since they supposedly made their own GF crust. Went to order take out and wanted to ask some questions, they were not very friendly or helpful. I am not sure what other GF options they carry, but they did have pizza.

While I had high hopes for the pizza being it wasn't factory made, it just wasn't very good. The dough was thick where it should have been thin and was thin where it should have been thick. Maybe I got a bad one and I will surely try again in hopes that next time is better.

When it was Alfonso’s, they were the “go to” for Gluten Free in Flemington. Awesome selection, incredible allergy awareness and great quality. Since they became Al Fresco’s, it’s been a bit “hit and miss”. They have the processes and kitchen set up to be gluten friendly (and they do [or at least ‘did’] put GF pizza on it’s own tray, contrary to what another reviewer was told), but the training and staff awareness isn’t consistent.

I’ve never had an issue dining in, but I’ve had seriously undercooked, over cooked and half-cooked pizzas [as in one side with raw pizza dough and the other black on the edges and so hard as to be inedible] and regular vs gluten-free food on take-out. Over the past few months, they’ve had a hard time serving any gluten free other than pasta, so we’ve found other options.

I really do love the food and the long-term staff, but they really need to work on the quality control and training when they bring new people on.

If you’re gluten free, it’s worth checking them out, but just ask for an experienced server who understands gluten free and can watch your back. I wouldn’t recommend trusting take-out at this time, but I hope it will improve.

Walked right in and the waiter said that they can cook all their pizzas and what not via gluten free. This is untrue! He then proceeded to tell me all the pizzas are cooked on the same pan and that “it’s the only way to do it.” Would not recommended, highly disappointed.

Excellent GF menu selections. If you are familiar with their previous restaurant Alfonso's 202 think same menu with most items available GF. Pizzas are awesome and our favorite buffalo calamari is excellent GF as well. Enjoy!
