The staff was kind, the food pretty good, and the safety a non-starter. To be fair, I didn’t react to the food itself at all. But the gent offered me a take out cup to take my tea with (super sweet) and I ended up reacting to that after leaving. There was so much ice I couldn’t see it until I looked for it, but there was an entire corner of a fry bread or similar in my iced tea. It was like 3/4” on the long side. I can only imagine someone was snacking over the ice bin. Nice peeps. Not safe. (And seriously, how many of us think to carefully inspect the plain black iced tea? 🤦🏻♀ Wish I had. I’m still in pain.)

UPDATED: Don’t order something that has gluten & then get angry at the restaurant if you get sick!! Do not order the tostadas!!!! Most items are gluten free and the sauces are thickened with rice flour! Mole Poblano is not gluten free. Menu marks the hat is gluten free. While the chips say gluten free, they are cooked in the same fryer so they aren’t ok for anyone sensitive to cross contamination.
I love the chili relleno, beef enchiladas verde, & house made corn tortillas!
Some food served on wooden plates, so if you are celiac or sensitive, tell them no wooden plates.

I ordered the tostada with no tortilla and noted it had to be gluten free on more than one occasion and got sick every time from this place. They mark food as gluten free on the menu so I thought they would know how to be safe.

We love Amelia’s. Yes we have to avoid the mole and the cracked corn tortillas, but we eat the street tacos and other menu items often, with no problems.
Absolutely amazing food! So many gf choices, and the corn tortillas taste like soft flour tortillas.
I have no idea what the others who are here use as a standard for gluten free establishments. they didn't know what gluten was. they have a shared frier..... their 'cracked corn tortilla' is a half corn / half flour tortilla. the service was slow. this was an awful experience. do not come here if you are gluten free.

If you haven't eaten at Amelia's you missing a real treat. They have the absolutely best Mexican food around. Almost the entire menu is Celiac friendly, no issues here. This place is a real jewel that shouldn't be missed. Oh, and the staff is great. They do take out, which is great because you'll want to take some of their homemade tortillas home.
