From the start it was a little challenging. I have a long list of allergies and I bring copies to hand to the server for the kitchen. They have an automated ordering system which people with allergies can’t use because it would be hard to get the order right. They were very nice and accommodated with having someone take my order manually. Sadly the dish came out with sesame seeds all over it (I’m allergic to sesame seeds). I had no choice but to send it back. Next it came back with 1/2 the protein and had some specks of black pepper which I’m also allergic to. It wasn’t a ton of pepper so I gave in and ate it with the pepper. I was just really disappointed as I had given a clear list and was so hungry after because they cut the protein. Later I had a little stomach ache from the pepper. Not the end of the world but the food was expensive and I was so sad because the other patrons food looked so good and tasty but after 2 chances I could see that perhaps it was not a great choice for customers with food issues. Perhaps if you only have a gluten issue they are ok but anything more not so much. They do identify on their menu what is gluten free.

I’ve come here a few times for brunch during the week and there was a gluten free vegan option I really liked. Well they took that off the menu and I went to eat dinner there yesterday — everything marked gluten free vegan has a risk of having gluten and dairy. Staff is not educated. Asked if fries were in dedicated fryer, first waiter said yes. But the manager said no. The mashed potatoes were listed as vv/gf; they have dairy in them. Anything fried listed gf, is NOT in a dedicated fryer. But the small amount of gluten free food I’ve had here has never gotten me sick. Very expensive for a small plate of allergy friendly food that isn’t even what you asked for. I wasted so much time and money!

The menu is marked but you shouldn’t believe it. I ordered wings (marked GF) and the chicken sandwich (also GF) and marked my allergies when I ordered. They brought out chicken breaded with gluten on a GF bun which makes no sense. Thank god the waiter caught it. I ordered it, selected gluten wheat and dairy allergy and they still brought it out. I also ordered the wings which are marked GF on the menu, selected the allergies again, ate some, and then when I talked to the manager she told me they were “gluten friendly” which means they were fried in the same fryer as gluten. So I’m going to be sick for the next week because their menu is not clearly marked and they don’t take allergy selections seriously. If you have celiac I would not eat here.

We went for Sunday brunch. The menu does say whether the main items are either gluten free or can be made gluten free. However, there were three courses included and only the main dish had gluten free options. The waiter tried to be accommodating with the first course and brought me GF toast, which was very nice. But none of the dessert options were gluten free. So in reality I wasn’t able to enjoy the full brunch experience, but was still charged for a full brunch. That being said, the gluten free Eggs Benedict was pretty good. Update: I had a bad reaction later, so I’m unsure if there was cross contamination.

For covid, they have everyone order from their phones into the kitchen. It was an interesting process but easy. I got eggs Benedict with gluten free bread. It was good but I wanted to change bacon to sausage and it wouldn’t allow me to on the website ordering system but that’s okay.

I have gluten sensitivities, but not celiac. I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich on GF bread with fries and it was delicious and I love their hot tea. The one thing that was suspect was the pastry I ordered. They didn't have it but said they had the croissant instead and I asked if it was GF and she told me yes. When I received it it tasted and looked like a regular croissant so I gave it to some of the other people I went with. Make sure staff is firmly aware of you sensitivities and speak to a manager if you have to.
Everything is so fresh. No reaction to food. Gf bun was used as toast with my eggs it looked too good to be gf but it was lol
Went in expecting less and was amazed to hear how accomadting they are for allergies / celiac disease. The staff knew if it was celiac to no fried food and made recommendation to other food. And also accommodated my dairy allergie. Not gd kitchen but definitely do everything possible to keep safe

Still super tasty and great food, but it’s gone way upmarket. $5-10 increase on all plates.

My daughter had no reactions. She enjoyed the bun. Servers were very cautious since they saw mine was not GF bread and made sure mine was right.

NO gluten free menu. Nothing specifically denoted as gluten free on the menu. Server said he could tell us what they can make gluten free. "We've got gluten free buns for the burgers." Asked if they had a dedicated dryer for the French fries. Said "Oh, I think so." Went off to check and came back with "No, everything is done in the same fryer." We finished our cocktail, paid for it and left. Sorry Americana, if your server doesn't even know whether you have a dedicated fryer or not, do you actually think I would let him recommend what is gluten free? For someone like me with extreme Celiac Disease, being gluten free isn't about being trendy, it's about keeping out of the Emergency Room. I would give you ZERO stars if I could.
GF bun was the only GF option. Expensive for a diner. Sign said shakes but they said "we don't make shakes here".
We had a really tasty dinner at the Americana. The waitress, Lauren, was very aware of the questions to ask the chef for my wife and son. The kitchen did a great job of transforming my sons large GF roll into a pair of mini-rolls to match the mini-burgers. While there is no dedicated fryer so he had broccoli to go with his burger rather than fries. The only downside was there were no dessert options for the two of them to enjoy so we had to pass on dessert.
Great stop close to the NJ turnpike. Waiter was very knowledgeable about gf options. My daughter had the kids mini cheeseburgers and they brought her a large gf bun and grilled veggies. Fries are not fried in a dedicated fryer. Great for families. Good service. We would stop here again. I loved my non-gf sandwich.
Great GF option. Very tasty upscale diner that has the classics too

I agree the food is quite good, much better than standard dinner fare. They have GF penne and burger buns and 2 desserts were GF (creme Broule and pumpkin pannacotta). We will definitely go again when on the NJ turnpike.
I had no gluten reaction and food was delicious. They have gluten-free pasta and bread. Almost the whole menu can be made gluten-free!
Many GF items, including desserts such as orange almond cake. Upscale diner menu, modernized but not without the classics. Accommodating and helpful waiters. Tasty GF buns for their array of gourmet burgers. Way better than your average diner!
