Anise, Modern Vietnamese Eatery

Got glutened. Thought it was something else, but had leftovers and glutened again. When I ordered the hostess assured me they could cook food separately and not cross contaminate (I think their tofu is normally deep fried). I've been to Vietnam and this food just wasn't a great effort for flavors either.

Anise is one of my favorite spots as someone with Celiac in Denver. The owner is INCREDIBLE—so kind and helpful. There are endless gluten free options and they mark which can be made gluten free. They are highly conscious of cross contamination, just make sure to mention if this is something you need. We have had the pho, Vietnamese crepe, and combination curry. All three were delicious and no reaction (I am highly sensitive). My partner and I also avoid dairy and they have plenty of options for gf/df as well as vegan. Couldn’t recommend more

I used to live in the neighborhood and ate here all the time! The menu is clearly marked and they always took my gluten free requests seriously. Amazing food, super nice staff, a total gem for a hungry celiac!

Amazing pho. Knowledgeable staff and left perfectly healthy! It’s a lot to say for a place that serves soup! I normally don’t trust restaurants that serve “gluten free” soup. This place was fantastic though. Will definitely be back (4 hearts for safety simply because it’s not dedicated gluten free)

I’ve ordered here several times, the food is delish and I haven’t been glutened. An employee there told me to mention celiac when I order, the menu is also super clear about which dishes are gf and ones they can modify to be gf. Great place in cap hill!

I ordered pick up with some items gluten free and some items not (for other people). All items were clearly marked with the name of the item and they made sure I knew which ones were not GF when I picked up the order. It’s nice to know that they are careful and attentive even when I’m not at the table double checking everything.

Chicken Pho was gluten free, stressed allergy/medical/ celiac and NO brown hoisin sauce. Had it delivered, delicious and hit the spot after being sick!
