I had a great experience here! Amazing hamburger on gluten free bun. (Got a side salad because shared fryer). Actually one of the best burgers I’ve ever had! When I called ahead, the staff were very pleasant and took the time to call me back because the chef wasn’t available when I first called. The chef was very knowledgeable about avoiding cross contamination. When I showed up, the waiter was a bit confused, but the chef could answer all questions.

The Asticou Inn is a delightful setting. I had visited here before my diagnosis and wanted to return.
The menu lists four items that are GF (tomato bisque, coconut Thai mussels, filet mignon, and chocolate tort). The other menu items list all ingredients and i think there could have also been other options.
I called in advance to ask about what they do to avoid cross contamination. I was told that when the server alerted the kitchen of a gluten allergy, they change gloves, cook in clean pans, and use a different area of the kitchen.
Like many other restaurants in the area, they are grossly understaffed, which impacts the quality of the service.

Stayed at the Inn and enjoyed a few meals in the Restaurant. Menu items marked Gluten Free. Asked for and received GF bread during breakfast buffet. Ordered a takeout picnic lunch that included a sandwich on GF bread and GD potato chips.
