Writing as a severe celiac, I've eaten here and done pickup numerous times and NEVER gotten contaminated... The gf thick crust doesn't look gf, but it's incredible and a much needed improvement to their old pizza crust :) This is probably the only, reliable, delicious pizza place I eat at.

We have been eating here about once a week with my very sensitive, celiac brother for the last few years and have never had an issue! They just added an additional gluten-free crust option, so now people can choose between thin and thick gf crust (the thick crust in particular is awesome; the first time we tried it we could hardly believe it was gf!). Just make sure to say that you have issues with cross-contamination so they can take the necessary protocols.

Got gf pizza there last night. When it arrived the toppings were all slid to one half of the pizza and it was not cut at all. After "fixing" it to be able to eat it, I spent most of my night suffering severe intestinal pain.... Not sure what they are doing there, but it's definitely NOT gf. 0/10 would recommend.

This used to be good, not anymore. I got glutened at the last two Barro's I ate at - I'm done with them. There are plenty of other great pizza options in the Phoenix area.

Edited: I’ve changed my review to unsafe. Despite conversations with management 3 out of 4 times my son has been very sick from the GF pizza. We give up. We will have to find somewhere else close for a safe pizza night.
We’ve ordered a few times for my celiac child and I’d say only once did we suspect cross contamination. It’s a pretty big risk at any pizza joint where flour is flying.
Also, we specifically asked about wings because a previous review stated that they are GF. Management states they are NOT GF, as they are fried in the same fryer as gluten products.

Tasty GF pizza & so happy the wings are GF as well. We eat at this location frequently & have had no issues.

Very good pizza never have had a problem
Their GF pizza crust is dry and overcooked. It was hard as a rock. There are certainly better places in town (Cibo's or Picazzo's) to enjoy GF pizza. Also, they must have a high level of cross contanimation because I ended up in a great deal of pain the day after eating there. Won't be visiting again.

Best gf thick crust pizza I’ve had in 15 years of having celiac disease.
Ordered a GF pizza online, it’s decent and had no problems afterwards!

I have had nothing but incredibly pleasant experiences with this chain establishment and have always felt safe and like my Celiac is taken seriously whenever I've gone to any location. However, this location, for over 2 years they've continually under trained their staff in proper food preparation, how to avoid cross contamination with allergens, what gluten even is, and what products may contain gluten and which absolutely don't.. I've got my order wrong so many times here and haven't been able to enjoy their ranch for a year because they had told me it had gluten and they were certain of it. A year later my husband asked and NOBODY on shift knew until an old allergy menu was found by a bus in a drawer and surprise it's gf. I then had to train three employees on what gluten is because they thought milk and eggs in it. If you want to enjoy Barros go to ANY location other than this one.
