I had the Pad Thai with chicken only (the server said I should not have the tofu, and I opted to pass on the shrimp). It was very good, and I did not have any reaction. The GF options are limited, and I am not 100% confident that they are completely knowledgeable about cross contamination. I was told that all of the curry dishes are GF, but I am not a fan of curry. Overall a good experience and I would go back.

Very few things are gluten free and waitstaff didn't seem to understand the importance. I usually feel sick after eating here.

We called first to see about gluten free options. When we asked our server what we could order he had NO idea. Instead of asking the kitchen staff he conferred with the wait staff.

He returned to tell us ONE menu item. We tried to explain that this was NOT a preference to eat Gluten Free BUT was a medical condition called Celiacs Disease. He was unfazed and completely uninterested in helping to find something besides the ONE. Menu item he suggested.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON THIS PLACE IF YOU NEED GLUTEN FREE FOOD.

We will continue to go to THAI ELEPHANT in Atascadero for our Thai food because the understand the severity and are gracious to accommodate us, and the food is delicious.

My boyfriend and I asked the hostess here earlier in the week if they have gluten free items on the menu, and were happily told yes. We decided to have lunch here a few days later. Our waitress was new, and didn't know if anything on the menu was gluten free, but was very friendly, and repeatedly asked the kitchen questions for us. The green curry, and one other item on the menu (pad phet, I think), we were told, were the only two dishes they could guarantee were safe. We ordered the green curry. Unfortunately, our food was sent from the kitchen with won tons on the plate...we were one of two tables at the time, so it shouldn't have been that difficult to remember which order was the gluten free one. I asked the man what they were made from, and said I couldn't have gluten, so were they made with wheat, etc. He replied, "yes, they are made from wheat," and left without offering to fix the problem. The curry itself was in a separate bowl, the won ton was on the salad plate. So, we ate the curry (which is always delicious here), and pushed the rest aside. The waitress apologized when we told her what had happened, but we weren't offered any replacement for the contaminated salad. A shame, as their salads are always very tasty. Given that there were gluten free options on the menu, and that this has alway been a favourite from before being diagnosed, I say it's worth going back, but the knowledge of the staff needs working on. As is, it's hardly celiac friendly, even if their menu has options.

Every time I have tried to eat here I get sick. The put gluten soy sauce in just about everything. No matter how many times and ways you explain contamination to them, they don't get it!
