Review of Bavarian Bierhaus

This is a copy of my wife’s yelp review of the Bavarian Bierhause in the Opry mills mall. CELIACS BEWARE!If the cook at the Bavarian Bierhaus has a PHD, why is he working as a cook at Bavarian Bierhaus? I’ve had celiac for over 17yrs. The Bavarian Bierhaus touts a pretty large selection of gluten free options, but now I am certain that I can’t trust them. The egomaniac in kitchen was THE MOST INSULTING, thoughtless, and careless excuse for a cook that I have ever encountered. We asked the server if the (gf) fries were actually fried in a separate fryer from other gluten products. She had to ask the cook, came back and told us yes. We ordered the SCHEWEINSHAXE (pork shank plenty for 2 and IS on the gf menu). It came swimming in gravy. She took it back and the cook dropped it in the fryer to remove the gravy then came out a proceeded to tell me that his son’s mother’s sister has celiac so he KNOWS you can’t transfer gluten in fryer oil because it’s flour and water and the oil separates from the water. So if this rocket scientist is right, why would they separate the fries into a dedicated gf fryer? From this experience I would suspect that they DON’T. They just SAY that they do. BTW its Christmas Eve and after 4 of the fries, I’m already bloated. Merry freaking Christmas!
