For the most part I love Betsy's and am so thankful to have a place to go that I can eat anything on the menu. I also try to avoid soy wherever possible and love that they have soy free options. They have many allergen free options for those who need them ie dairy, soy, and vegan. The menu selections while not huge in comparison to a regular restaurant for a gluten free facility are plentiful and a nice variety. I think everyone could find something on the menu they would like. If you order a meal either to eat there or to go the prices can't be beat, and these items are always tasty and fresh. It isn't like a normal restaurant though they don't really have condiments like my son loves to dip his chicken in ranch and they don't have stuff like that. Afterall it is a bakery with a small menu so I don't get too upset at stuff like that. I've never had a bad experience with a meal from their menu and I've probably eat there 20 or so times.

The baked goods in the case are another story. The most exciting thing about her baked goods is the variety and amazing selection of awesome goodies that you had long since given up hope that you would ever taste again. She has anything from raspberry cupcakes to key lime, to blueberry muffins to coffee cake it truly is amazing. however, I think most of her baked goods are a little overpriced. understand scratch made gluten free is going to cost more than say a walmart cake, but good grief there is a 50 dollar difference in a walmart 1/4sheet vs hers. Her 1/4 sheet is 65 and that is a little extreme. The individual cupcakes are 2.50 whereas walmart (just as a comparison) is 0.88. I Which would be fine if they were always fresh. Some days you will find fresher than fresh and others they taste like they have been in there a long time ie very dry and crumbly. I've been told that they make larger batches of cupcakes and other baked goodies they freeze most of the batch and then stock the case as needed... Which in a smaller family operated business you all but have to do but, if they are already freezing perhaps they should reduce the number of days items stay in the case. I've rarely bought rolls and didn't feel like they were stale the very next day. They do freeze ok though. The only other complaint is that items are rarely marked correctly in the case. Ie there will be a brown cupcake sitting in front of a "key lime" label, now clearly key lime wouldn't be brown and they are often so busy you hate to ask. I really do believe they are trying their best to provide the best quality possible gf baked goods without preservatives its just when you are spending 2.50 on a single cupcake or 8 dollars on 4 sub rolls it would be nice if they were always always fresh.

This seems like a bad review, but it really wasn't meant to be. I've been going to Betsy's since they opened and they are still the very best scratch made gf option for almost everything.
