Mortar & Pestle has combined with Tribe Collective. The person I asked in the parking lot didn't even know what M&P was.

Everything is gluten-free and most things are vegan. I'm visiting from North Dakota. It's hard to find places around here (Lafayette, LA) who even know what you mean when you ask if they have gluten-free options.

I didn't try anything from the menu, just grabbed some pastries to go. Everything I got (cupcake, oatmeal cream pie, king cake) was also vegan. There was no flavor to anything. I was disappointed for the amount of money I paid. I'm glad the place exists for those with food allergies, but I don't plan to make a stop next time I'm visiting.

Mortar and Pestle is Tribe Collective, we were a little confused but glad we figured it out! This place is awesome!

As a previous post noted they are in the same building with a convenience store, but don't let that discourage you. Nice place, awesome service, cool atmosphere!

Fun place with lots of options. We had pear fritters and a delicious sandwich with egg and cheese. My hubby had French toast. All tasty! Best thing is every thing is GF. They have a variety of cold pressed juices. Very welcoming atmosphere

Quite literally my favorite place to eat in Lafayette. I have celiac and when I am cross contaminated, I know it. At Bibi's, I never have to worry about getting sick. The food is delicious and completely safe. Tons of options and a great atmosphere!

wow, I can have eclairs and french toast!!!! the barista said gluten isn't even allowed in the building, that if someone brings goldfish for their kids they will be asked to take them outside on the porch. The eclairs were delicious & the French Toast nice and thick and chewy. I wish we had a lovely place like this at home.

Small town lady with Celiac disease and I was so excited to find an independently owned cafe that truly puts care into their product (and didn't look at me like I have leprosy when I said Celiac Disease)

Best coffee I have had in ages, great sandwiches and breakfast burrito and some delightfully indulgent pastries!

I am not in Lafayette often, but whenever I am I will make sure to visit again.

The first couple of times I went there, the bakery items were pretty good and I would have given it 4 stars. But, the last time I was there, the GF cookie bars were dry as dust. Will not go back to spend $4-5 on a cookie that is inedible. Maybe I just got a bad batch, but it's not worth the money to have to throw it out.

What a cool surprise on my way through Lafayette! Totally GF so no worries about cross contamination or having to explain the importance of the GF diet for a sensitive celiac. The Apple Mustard turkey panini was out of this world savory. The coffee was truly the best I've had in a long time as was the lemongrass tea
