We went back since I had such a great experience the last time today was definitely not the same I asked for an unlimited mimosa since a sign said they ended at 5 and it was 3:40 she said they end at 4 so I couldn't get it I didn't argue because I didn't want to taint the experience I ordered the gluten free calamari appetizer which was very good then I had the cioppino (which isn't pictured because I forgot since I was so worried) it came out with bread she took it back since it had bread she then came out with the same bowl and I told her my concern about cross contamination which she just kept saying it was gluten free I then decided I would just eat it (which I hope I don't regret) I won't be back since it's not worth getting sick over I hate that celiac disease isn't taken serious by a significant amount of food service staff I wish people were more knowledgeable I really thought this place was great the last time I was there so I am so sad that this time was different I really wish I was the type to send my food back but I get to embarrassed and am concerned that if I was to complain they would definitely gluten me it stinks that eating out used to be my favorite thing and since I've been diagnosed it gives me so much anxiety
Incredibly gluten friendly and staff are so helpful. Can have things that I normally could not and haven't in a long time without worry.
GF fish n chips and beer - what more do you need!
Great GF options. They are very careful preparing the food.
This is one of my all-time favorite restaurants! The only place I know where you can get GF fish and chips or breaded calamari--and both done fresh and beautifully. The pastas, lobster rolls, and blueberry cobbler make this a place you'll want to come back to again and again!
Fantastic food and really friendly people that take Celiac disease seriously. Almost all the items on the menu are gluten free.
My whole family plus in-laws just ate the most delicious GF meal, served by the friendliest staff. We even got a table visit from the chef! The kids were so happy to get gf fish & chips, I got calamari for the 1st time in forever, and a lobster roll on the best gf bread, They even have sour dough bread bowls. (just about the whole menu is gf), and best of all I didn't get sick!
Love this place they always treat me right and have some of the best seafood in the Bay Area!!!
Amazing place. The attention to gluten free is amazing.
Excellent food and variety of GF options! The server took time to explain how they maintain a gluten free kitchen and reduce cross contamination. I had the captains platter and no reaction or GI issues. Yum!
Best GF fish and chips around, made with Redbridge GF beer and tapioca flour. Owner and staff are very knowledgeable and take care to prevent cross contamination. Dedicated GF fryer. $6 bottomless mimosa's during weekend brunch. Kid friendly.
Whoa, GF calamari!! So good - crispy breading & tender inside. The spinach-orange side salad was sweet and really delicious too (just on the edge of being too sweet, but balanced by a hint of bitterness) . Great spot, worth every penny. (I couldn't find prices online, so i was a little nervous - I think calamari was $12 and salad $6, which seemed reasonable to me).
What a treat! Delicious haddock fish and chips from a dedicated fryer! The batter is not too exciting but the fish is excellent and the tartar sauce is really good. Our sweet server brought sourdough bread to the table but nothing GF. Pretty soon she came back with two absolutely delicious rolls for me...a hot roll with melting butter...heaven! It is hard to know how to describe the rolls. The are flat bread discs but oh so yummy (from a local certified GF bakery). Billy indicated they also use them in place of the English muffin for the eggs Benedict. Soooo good! Everyone enjoyed our lunch, including those with the non-GF orders. Definitely recommended! Biggest disappointment was that they serve a GF bread bowl for soup but the chowder and bisque are not GF, only the Manhattan chowder. Seems that they could thicken the chowder with something other than wheat flour to make this truly a spectacular treat of items that most of us only consider to be a faint memory since going GF.
So much goodness! The owner, Billy, is a trained chef (Johnson & Wales) and it shows. Nearly the whole menu can be made gluten-free and there's a dedicated GF fryer. You can get foods here you thought you had given up on -- Onion Rings, Fish & Chips, Shephard's pie, and seafood pastas. The GF batter is a little bland because it's hard to replicate what wheat does, but at the end of the day it really doesn't matter. The best-kept secret here is the grilled seafood with a lemon-butter sauce. Order these GF (as there's a trivial breading) and enjoy.
Safe and tasty, plus a nice location!
This place is amazing!! I always get fried calamari and a pull pork sandwich. They have a separate fryer for gluten free food. Most of there menu can be made gluten free. The servers are really friendly and nice but the service is a bit slow. I have eaten there on busy days and slow days and no matter what I feel like I'm always waiting for something.
Super tasty! Food did take a little while, because they had to make new pasta, but it was worth the wait. We had the Manhattan chowder in a bread bowl, and the lobster mac and cheese. Totally worth the money! There was a substantial amount of lobster in the pasta, and large pieces of clam in the chowder. B+, would eat again.
Fantastic food! Totally gf safe and Celiacs safe but they were running out of gf options on Saturday night so call ahead to make sure they have what you want.
Wonderful meal! GF fried seafood, lobster rolls, lobster mac & cheese were all fabulous. Tom, our waiter, was incredibly nice & helpful!
Fried food heaven. After 30+ years with celiac it was exciting to finally taste a lobster roll and fish'n'chips. I don't ever have to do that again (not really much flavor) but it was delightful to enjoy a big plate of safe French fries.
Fantastic food, the wait staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. They have a dedicated fryer, so I had beer-battered fried haddock (Redbridge is the beer they use), French fries and coleslaw. It was awesome!
This place is amazing. I've been multiple times with no reaction.
We went here the other day for the first time. Almost everything on the menu can be made Gluten Free. The owner, Billy, even came over to answer some questions. Once he found out it was my young daughter who was gluten free he made sure she had a great experience. She said the Gluten free pasta and Manhattan Clam Chowder was delicious. They even served GF Beer. We will definitely be back to this very friendly restaurant.
Simply wonderful. VERY GF- friendly menu. Owner came out to see how everything was and how I liked the GF sourdough, which is the best GF bread I've had. Call me a new regular.
Update (1/14): Virtually the entire menu has been updated to be GF with only three items that can't be done GF. Make sure to ask for GF when as items can be made with or without wheat. Everything is awesomely delicious and the server checked with the chef before placing the order! Extra points for the wine list, which shows some real thought went into it (including Navarro, which is mostly carried by high-end restaurants.) Even my Bostonian dining companion was happy.
Pretty much everything is Gf here just make sure to ask for the menu
Finally made it here and loved it. Great gluten free choices, dedicated fryer, knowledgeable staff. Definitely a winner!
Great fish and chips! Dedicated fryer and g-free trained kitchen. Staff was kind of blah. Non g-free hubby felt the batter on his regular fish and chips was a little bland. G-free foods are also the same price as regular which is great.
This place is wonderful. GF menu with a dedicated GF fryer- yummy!
