The food was delicious! No gf menu, but the only thing I had to avoid was the pita bread.

What a nice surprise. I was a bit anxious at first, but the gentleman that sat my husband and me explained what I could and count eat, that their fries are fried in their own oil, and was just all around very kind and patient with me. I ordered the Shepherd Salad with grilled shrimp, and an order of fries, of course 😂. I was thankful we stopped at this little quaint spot and look forward to eating their for dinner next time.

I have Celiac and we have eaten there many times. I have never been gluten. The food is delicious, we love the atmosphere, it's a very quaint little place gem. I would even go as far as to say a diamond in the rough it's just a great place all around the staff is amazing and I just can't rave enough about it.

We ate here for Valentine’s Day and John did an amazing job of reassuring me that everything on the menu except the pita and desserts were gf. The food was so good! We got the fried calamari, falafel and two combinations. We will definitely be going back.

Very impressed with this restaurant! I asked as we were seated if there was a GF menu and the man replied "you're holding it!" Having fried calamari again was heaven and the entrees are all safe. I had the grilled shrimp which were so big that they were almost prawn sized! Extremely friendly and attentive staff and reasonably priced. We will be back!

We are here last night and it was great! They were very knowledgeable when it came to Celia disease and said they don't even have flour in the building. I got to have fried calamari for the first time since I found out I had celiac. My boyfriend who does eat gluten even said it was some of the best calamari he'd ever had. Our waiter was great! I'd definitely go back!!!

This place was beyond phenomenal! my husband and I were able to have fried calamari (we haven't had in years!) it was coated in corn meal. the entire menu (less the pita bread) is gluten free and the manager/owner was there that night and very celiac knowledgeable. We ate until we were stuffed and are already planning our trip to Wilmington just for this restaurant.

This place is amazing!! The food was absolutely delicious and the waiter was so nice. It is also reasonably priced. They are very well educated on gluten allergies and take precautions. In fact, everything (even the calamari) is gluten free on their menu, except the pita bread and desserts. After talking to the waiter, John, he expressed that he was also the owner. I was so impressed that he owns, operates, and waits at the restaurant, and was super friendly. He even recommended stuff to do locally. I highly recommend for everyone, especially those with gluten issues!

The waiter John is always helpful and knows what has gluten and what doesn't. My wife has other allergies and he knew exactly what she could have. Food is exceptional especially the lamb.

If you have more than 4 people you need to plan ahead. If you have a toddler make sure they can sit in a regular seat. Black Sea only has 1 high chair in the restaurant. 3 items on the kids menu and they only offer soft drinks. No substitutions available even for an iced tea instead of a soda. Waiter was a bit grouchy and not very patient with our group. Lightened up a bit when he realized our kid was better behaved then the other one in the restaurant. Food was good though and waiter knew about gluten restrictions.

Everything was delicious at Black Sea Grill. Perfectly seasoned, fresh, and clearly made with love at this family owned restaurant. The calamari was outstanding. Battered in cornmeal, it was the best calamari I'd ever had, even pre-gluten free days.

I am severe gluten sensitive and was so excited to see a possible calamari dish. We told our waiter I could not eat gluten. He said the calamari was battered in cornmeal so I gave it a shot. I tend to react within 2 to 24 hours and nothing happened after I ate the super yummy dish! Best calamari ever! Loved the beef, rice and the Turkish white wine. Took a walk on the dock after our meal. A night to remember!

3 of our family has Celiac. We drove out of our way to come here because of the great reviews and read that they don't use flour. When we ordered lunch we asked for a GF menu, she said just don't order the sandwiches, they have gluten, the rest would be fine. We told them about Celiac, she said no problem, however all 3 of us got sick. Not sure what precautions they took to limit cross contamination, the server brought out our plates right after bring a gluten meal out without washing hands. The food tasted great, but NOT worth it when all 3 of us got sick. Don't go here if you have Celiac.

Great food, reasonably priced. Very accommodating! My husband ordered the surf and turf, but wanted grouper instead of flounder and I ordered the sampler but got shrimp instead of the lamb chops and beef. Everything was fresh and delicious. We will go back!

A very enjoyable evening. John was very knowledgeable about gluten sensitivity and cross contamination although there was little to worry about because they do not cook with any flour. They had New Grist Pilsner and usually have New Planet as well. Great place for celiac, vegetarian, and vegan options.

The food is so flavorful. This is one of my new favorites. Everything on the menu is GF except pita points and desserts (for now). They have the best GF fried calamari. The owners are very welcoming to GF diets which makes eating there easy and enjoyable. Great atmosphere!

Update on GF dessert. I got to enjoy an amazing chocolate brownie topped with vanilla Ice cream on my birthday. It was so amazing that even my non-GF friends were all over it! It is not yet on the menu but may occasionally be available if you're lucky;).

Amazing food and safe for Celiacs. I have celiac and am very sensitive. Upon walking in I asked if they had a gluten free menu and he said "you're looking at it! We don't use flour!" Wow All I have to say is deep fried calamari I haven't had that since getting diagnosed. It was to die for. They don't deep fry anything that has flour or wheat in it. I had no reactions. I also had the mahi mahi and it was super fresh and incredibly tasty. This place is amazing!! They also had a gfree beer I hadn't tried yet.
