They only have their GF pancakes on the weekends

This place is very careful and the food is awesome! Make sure you say that it is an allergy not a preference and they will mark your order that way so that it is prepared carefully! All the food is so good!

Although they have a gluten free menu, the staff didn’t seem very attentive when I notified them that I was celiac and asked about cross contamination. You know when you get the person who just goes, “yes, we do that,” but offer no additional information about their procedures or acknowledges that they can’t guarantee that there’s no cross contamination? It was one of those, and predictably I got sick from the Cuban sandwich with potato salad.

No! They cross contaminate. They play a big front they are GF, but I get sick every time. My daughter has peanut allergies, beware they use peanut oil in most fried foods. All the staff are misinformed and do not even know what GF is, much less cross contamination.
No
They have separate GF menu. Beware GF pancakes are cooked in the same griddle surface so likely not safe for Celiac. Sandwiches and anything with eggs are safe. They do mark your ticket as gluten allergy
Yes
Previously had great experiences at this location but this last visit and the management was terrible this time. Had to bring my plate back to the counter because there was something (meat or mushrooms) in my plain scrambled eggs. The staff including the chef (who loudly dropped the plate on the counter out of frustration) and the manager got upset. At that time, told them to please not worry about remaking and requested a refund. The manager was unapologetic and acted put off. If something as simple as scrambled eggs can have unrequested items in it...
GF bread is good, pancakes are ok...an easy place to go for quick casual and safe. I always have a side salad instead of fries.
Gf bread is good and plenty of choices!
The lobster tacos are divine, and so are the omlettes which you can get at any time of the day. It takes a while to get your food. So come in a patient mood.
food is great but don't order the sweet potato fries. They are cooked with all other fried foods. I learned the hard way. menu is not marked gf items so ask.
No
Broad menu with lots of choices. Omelets, salads, fish tacos, migas, roasted veggies and potatoes.
I love Black Walnuy cafe. The food is always fresh. My favorite meal is the Black Walnut Salad with grilled chicken. I just ask for no garlic bread. The menu is clearly labeled with gf items. On the weekends they serve gf pancakes. This location also has a nice outdoor covered patio.

Have gone here two mornings in a row. Most staff are knowledgeable about GF options. Griddle items are not gluten free, and neither are the house potatoes. First morning we went, they put house potatoes on my plate even after mentioning the gluten free requirement. The next day they informed me that the potatoes were not free of contamination and offered me a different side (this explained why my guts were leading a rebellion) so just be aware.

Asked for gluten free menu. Given a menu that listed gluten food in 90% of the items. Selected Texas breakfast figuring it would be safe. After it was served, I asked the waitress if the bread was gluten free. She said it was, but the potatoes and the jam((!) were not. She brought me fruit to replace it. Basically, I’ll never return. It was the worst gf restaurant experience I’ve had.

The last two times I have been here they have put regular bread on my salad that I specifically ordered gluten-free. This time I had to force the issue of completely remaking the salad.

Their gluten free pancakes were not edible. Also the pairing of the gf pancakes come with egg whites. Gluten free doesn’t necessarily mean I’m trying to not enjoy the other good flavors in the world! I just can’t enjoy gluten! This place does not offer much in variety. Would not return.
