Very friendly and willing to switch gloves when preparing a pizza with gluten-free crust. That being said I got a pretty severe glutening and suspect it was due to shared ingredient bins. Tasty food, but not safe for celiacs.

Staff were very careful when making our GF pizzas today. We have Celiac in the family and did not get sick. Also, very good cauliflower crust!!!

I really wish cross contamination wasn’t so bad at this place. The food is amazing and the people nice but for a celiac there is no way to avoid cross contamination. I thought I’d try it and the staff were nice and did their beat but I still got very sick.

Staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Pizza was small but very good. Down point, was expensive for small amount of food
NOT a safe place for those with celiac, in my opinion.
They will change their gloves for those with celiac.
They press their dough (both GF and regular) on the same dough press machines, without cleaning between.
Their toppings are GF, but they use the same toppings for those with celiac or not, so after handling regular dough, the put their hands in the cheese, meats, veggies, etc.
They do use a sauce from the end of their line that has a cover over it instead of the open sauce on the line.
They bake their pizzas in the same brick oven directly on the surface regular pizzas sit on.
They remove the pizzas with same paddles as regular pizzas.
They place all pizzas (GF and reg) on racks after removing them from oven while they wait for cutting. Pizzas were overlapping and crowded, plus crumbs were all over.
They cut the GF pizza with the same cutter as the regular pizzas.
They were very friendly, but unfortunately, I do not feel they offer a celiac safe pizza.

We had gluten free pizza. I explained we were gf and had them change gloves etc. I got very sick afterwards! My daughter didn’t feel well either. I think there is a lot of cross contamination.
No
LAZY!! Called at 10:15 pm to ask if they had gluten free food. He said yes but they were closed. Hours were until 1:30am. He just did not want to make it, would be afraid to eat there if that is the service offered.
Not at all celiac friendly. They use the same equipment for gluten free pizzas as the regular dough. Direct quote from their website, "How gluten-free is it? If you are simply looking to reduce the amount of gluten in your diet and don’t want to give up on pizza..." and "we use the same oven and dough press for both gluten-free and standard dough, so there is a good chance of some cross-contact in our restaurants."
No
Blaze Pizza in Ames has an allergen list and gluten-free pizza crust. All of the toppings are gluten-free except for the meatballs. Blaze Pizza does a great job about changing gloves. The pizza is kept on a mat indicating gluten free so it never touches the same surface as flour. The pizza cutters are also specifically only used on gluten free pizzas. Great service - everyone took extra precaution to ensure my meal was safe of cross-contamination. Basically an $8 pizza with unlimited toppings.

The staff is very careful with their gluten free pizzas! Customizable and delicious!
There's definitely a chance of cross contamination, but they took my celiac very seriously and cleaned everything extra well for my order.

Have eaten here several times without issue. They are contentious and nice about it. I have celiac.

I have been to Blaze restaurants that use precautions in preparing GF pizzas. This isn’t one of them. We ordered 2 GF pizzas for my daughter and I, and the fellow (not his fault, obviously had no training) took two of the cooking discs out of a pile of flour from the regular station. He put our GF dough on top of the flour covered discs. We apologized for the inconvenience and left. Blaze is in general a terribly run franchise system. Very disappointing.

They have great gluten free crust. It’s especially good if you ask for it well done as it helps get it more crispy. They are pretty good at changing gloves and asking if it is an allergy.

This location had been good in the past and made sure to take precautions including getting fresh toppings but not so great the past year. I’ve tried multiple times to go back and every time over the past year, I have walked out without ordering as they make me extremely uncomfortable. Every time I go they have a change in staff. When I ask about celiac friendly, they advise they change their gloves, have a gf dough, and have a separate “allergy” sauce, but they WILL NOT use separate toppings. So therefore you will be glutened. When I’ve inquired but getting fresh toppings they have advised they can’t do that. If you try this place be TAKE CAUTION.
They offer a Gluten free option but sadly there's a high risk of cross contamination. There are very few employees that care enough to acknowledge your celiac concerns and use ingredients separate from the front counter. I've been to this location twice and the 2nd time was the awful experience that made me stop going.

Excellent pizza! I had the regular GF crust and it was quite tasty. I also have to give them credit for switching out the crust twice when they pulled them out and they had small rips in the bottom. They said it was already fragile, so they wanted a good one. Excellent customer service!
