I had great experiences with Blooming Grounds for years but the last few times I’ve been I have gotten SO sick! Unfortunately I don’t think this place is safe for anyone who has a wheat allergy or Celiac Disease. This makes me so sad, there are no safe places in Winona.

My daughter and I had 1/2 a panini and salad - although it sure seemed like a full panini - 6 inch sub. I had the Chicken, olive, and artichoke panini and she had the super duper. I had the garden salad and she had the Caesar without croutons. It was all very good with friendly service for about $20. The panini's were cooked in aluminum foil to avoid contamination, yet the crust was nicely crisp.

Excellent coffee, but no gluten free food options offered at the Winona Mall locations due to low customer requests. The GF hoagies are ok at the downtown location. I need to remind staff to remove/replace the contaminated tinfoil after cooked. Little regulation on the chips & hoagie meats/cheeses. Never assured the order is gluten free, I need to ask several times if cross contamination precautions were used in prep and cooking.
