Plenty of gluten free options. Very knowledgeable staff. I had the beef tacos. They were yummy.
Then I went back and tried their callas (like warm donut holes with honey). I will dream about those.
I went one last time for brunch and had the chicken and waffles. I had never eaten that dish before and the thought of it didn't really appeal to me, but wow!

So happy to enjoy GF beignets! While they don’t look like beignets, they taste like beignets.

Walked over to Bons from bourbon street for the gluten free gumbo and beignets. The food was good. There were multiple options for gluten free and the server was knowledgeable. We had the GF shrimp and grit bites, gumbo and beignets. All were tasty and worth the walk down.

In a town FULL of southern food, my dining options have been limited. But Bon's gives a welcome respite! The Casas aren't quite beigniets, but they're close enough, and tasty in their own right! The menu also offers GF Gumbo, an option I haven't seen anywhere else - I'll have to come back before I head home!

This was such a jewel for us. My wife is a celiac and I have Hashimotos so gluten free is a must for us. Trying to find delicious New Orleans cuisine without gluten has proven a challenge for us in the past. This place had a very good menu. I have no clue why some reviews didn’t like the Calas-gf beignets, they were delicious. All of us know gluten free pastries are gonna be more dense than normal. We had the chicken and waffles….amazing. Also had the shrimp and grit bites and the mushroom and herbs cheese crêpes. Amazing!!!!! We will be going here again before we leave. There were 4 people total in our party and no one left hungry or disappointed. No reactions, knowledgeable staff, my wife is super sensitive so this was fantastic!

Gluten free Beignets are yummy. And number of other choices too like shrimp and grit bites and bread pudding cup. So glad found this place

There is a sign right out front saying "Yes, we use a separate Fryer", something I was so happy to see. I was told there were about 20 gluten free things you could order. The French fries were fantastic. The gf beignets were really not what I expected, more like blueberry oatmeal based fried donut holes, but at least they were gluten free. Friendly service, good music while you wait. Hurricane (while I waited for food) was good.

No gluten contamination but food was very mediocre. The GF Biegnets were not what we expected and quite dissimilar from regular gluten Biegnets.

Had Nutella crepes, Cala’s, and chicken and waffles. The chicken was to die for! But didn’t care for the hot honey - just tasted burnt to me. Would have preferred syrup for the waffles. The Cala’s tasted more like doughnuts but were very good. The crepes were ok - wasnt a fan of the foamy texture but still tasted great! Also, I don’t feel any issues after hours of eating here! Menu well labeled and reassure you that the fryer is dedicated!

Menu is clearly marked with gluten free options, and I believe that anything labeled on there is gluten free by default so no alterations needed. I had the street tacos (which were pretty much life changing) and the gf beignets for dessert. The beignets have a dedicated fryer. Did not get a reaction from here, and it was really high quality and smack dab in the French Quarter!

My family was eating at Cafe du Monte and just a 3 minutes walk away I found the gf beignets! So they taste like a cinnamon cake donut with powdered sugar and honey but it was still great to find them! I happily got them to go and joined my family at du Monte. They also post they use a separate gf fryer and have several food items that are gf.

AMAZING!! Big sign advertising their gf options. I had the street tacos and the beignets. It was all so good.
I've seen a few people here harping on their beignets. I thought they were great. Sure, they are balls and may be denser than gluten ones. But gf food is usually denser. These beignets are still amazing. Very flavorful. My family had the gluten beignets from Cafe du Monde and thought the ones from Bon's were so much better.
So, if you are in NOLA and gf, you got to visit Bon's. It's in the heart of the French quarter and has quick service (not the super long line seen at other establishments like Cafe du Monde) with amazing food.
Oh, and they have an actual clean bathroom at Bon's rather than the one at Cafe du Monde which was gross.

GF beignets were decent. But we’re there at 1:30 to order lunch and the kitchen still wasn’t open for lunch orders yet and no real estimate for when they would be open (he kept telling people 15 minutes more for about 30 minutes). We finally left after getting the regular and GF beignets. Would have loved to try their other food but then they were closed the next day.

“Home of the GF Beignet!” It says so on their sign. 😉 They were delicious, light and warm on a brisk evening while on vaca. It was fantastic to be able to experience a beignet while in New Orleans. Great experience. No issues.

These were my first beignets so maybe my disappointment had more to do with the nature of the pastry than these gluten-free ones. To me it was just a heavy sugar-drenched ball of fried dough. I had expected something lighter and more French inspired.

The food is delicious! So flavorful and so yummy. Like so good we are their twice in a day Atmosphere and location is great.
All good - grilled romaine salad, street tacos with pork or beef (so juicy), street corn, snowballs, and calas.
Only thing I would say is they have Calas, but not gluten free beignets. I wish they wouldn’t promote them as such. They are good as a rice fritter, but they are definitely not beignets and do not taste like beignets at all. Calas are a different type of dessert.
Location: it is right across from Jackson square.

Dedicated fryer! They heavily advertise these as GF beignets - they are not, but still really good! It’s a rice fritter called a callas. Seemed to be coated in a syrup and powdered sugar, similar to a slightly crunchy donut hole. Very sweet and yummy, just not a one to one substitute for a beignet.

We found this amazing little gem on our 1st night in New Orleans. It's absolutely wonderful. Staff is knowledgeable and very friendly. Lots of GF options. They even have a breakfast/brunch menu with GF options. Visit for the GF beignets, and return for a sample of everything else. I had the Duck Bites and GF beignets for dinner; GF shrimp and Grits bites for lunch today.

I read the other review, but I still wanted to see what the GF beignets were.
They were ok and not in any way related to a beignet.
Nice to have a sweet breakfast option, but beignet is not a word to use to describe these apple fritter donut holes covered in honey and powdered sugar.

I got the gf beignets. I’ve never had a beignet in my life but I’ve seen them in princess and the frog and these were closer to donut holes then what I thought a beignet was. Still they were very good. Drenched in honey and crunchy on the outside but softer on the inside. Nevertheless they were my first beignets and they were delicious

Went in seeing the GF sign saying they had beignets, so I decided to get those ( doughnut hole like beignets, they were a bit overly fried but had a delicious and safe taste. My mom said it had an Apple fritter type of taste) and their Mexican street corn. (YUMMY! But Beware the alligator street corn has contamination, but is listed under GF.) I also got their GF shrimp salad. (Not the best, it had a lot of wilted romaine.) Overall not highly impressed, but it’s nice to have GF beignets available.

Nothing special, food was pretty good came out nice and hot. The two guys at the counter were overly friendly and definitely helped walk me through the menu and gave suggestions. Got three items, GF beignets, duck bites and beans and rice, was about $31 before tipping. I did tell them I had a wheat allergy and needed to be gluten-free. They still sent out my beans and rice with toast. They were super nice about the mistake though. Check out the photos of the “GF beignets”. While they were super yummy they were not a beignet, more like a heavy donut hole.
