Stopped in here after visiting the shark reef. Staff was knowledgeable and took my celiac/ allergy serious. They were very attentive and our glasses never went below half full. Limited/small menu overall, but I was happy to be able to eat the chips and salsa, which is weirdly uncommon at a lot of places. Tacos were okay, not the best I've had, but didn't get sick so that's always the indicator of a good meal out now adays!

My 11 yo son is celiac and a picky eater. They happily made him chips and cheese style nachos in place of a quesadilla. It’s hard to find “kid-friendly” foods that are GF. They take proper precautions and many items in their menu are labeled GF.

The waitress was wonderful and asked about allergies including celiac before I even mentioned anything. Unfortunately the kitchen staff did not read or understand the ticket because my son’s tacos came out on wheat rather than corn tortillas.

I had a very mixed experience here. Our server was in a hurry and generally dismissive of my questions and concerns. I confirmed that the chips go in their own fryer and reiterated that I couldn't have anything that goes into a shared fryer with gluten. I asked him to note gluten allergy on everything we ordered for the table and everything I ordered for myself (I mentioned it for each item as we placed the order). One of the items we ordered with a gluten allergy note was the plantain empanadas. When they arrived they looked deep fried, so I asked whether they had been fried in a shared fryer with gluten. He asked the kitchen and confirmed that they were. I held off on eating them until we got an answer, so I avoided getting sick, but it was disappointing since I had tried to be really careful about ordering. The food was cold when it arrived and fine but in my opinion not worth the price. We had short rib tacos and a trio of enchiladas; the taco was really oily and the enchiladas were dry and flavorless. Giving them 3 stars because I did end up eating safely (and am always happy when I find a Mexican restaurant with safe chips), but this place was not the celiac-friendly restaurant I had expected it to be based on the reviews.

I had such an incredible experience at Border Grill. Our waitress was extremely personable and talked me through the menu and cooking processes. We were so impressed with the food. The plantain empanadas were to die for! We will be back for sure.

Much of the menu is gluten free. They assured us all chips are in a dedicated fryer. We saw one person had said the opposite under the tip section of the app. I double checked directly with a manager and was assured that all chips are in a dedicated fryer. Border Grill in the Mandalay Bay is fabulous. Almost everything on the menu is gluten free and there are several vegetarian and vegan items. The menu is clearly marked.

I had the chips and guacamole, the rainbow cauliflower tacos, and the plantain empanadas. All were absolutely fabulous. (I don’t usually order three things at a restaurant, I was just so happy to see so many choices.)

It’s definitely worth the trip to the far end of the strip.

Great service from all servers and a clear understanding of Celiac. Menu has GF symbols along with vegetarian/vegan options and callouts for mostly plant-based items. I had the vegan chile relleno and a bourbon cocktail, both great. The GF chips with three salsas and a guac starter were also really tasty.

We'd eaten here twice before about a year ago (on the same trip, it was that good!) and both times I had more meat-based entrees like tamales and carnitas tacos, both of which were awesome. I love that they're consistently making tasty, GF-safe food!

Just an FYI when we went in 5/2022 our waitress informed us that they’ve been frying non gf food in their previously dedicated gf fryer so fried food is NOT Celiac safe. I recently ate here for lunch two days in a row and had previously eaten here three years ago. Braised short ribs are worth the money. They were amazing with purple mash potatoes. We also got a brocollini medley. This isn’t a place to get simple street tacos it is fancy and very good, probably not very desirable for children or picky eaters as there is nothing “plain.”

The waitress was very knowledgeable and they take extra precautions for celiacs. A lot of the menu is gluten free. Be aware that they do offer guacamole GF on appetizer menu but serve it with chips that are not celiac safe (not cooked in a dedicated fryer). The food was delicious! I had the tomato soup and tacos. Went here after seeing it on Chef Show (netflix). It was so delicious! I ordered the spicy shrimp. Our server was knowledgeable about GF and told me I had nothing to worry about because they take allergies very seriously. I felt comfortable knowing that the food I was eating would be handled with care.

Have eaten here a few times and food is very good with lots of GF options on the menu. I had eaten here yesterday and was told that the chips were cooked in a dedicated fryer. Today after advising that I had celiac was told that the chips I was eating could be contaminated that they could have cooked other items in the fryer.
