I had the kale and beet salad with spinach and thought it was great. I didn't try to order anything that would typically have gluten so I didn't ask any questions, but appreciated that the menu was marked and that made it easier for me to choose. They had a pretty broad selection of GF options so I would come back again.

So many options- will try again!
I had the kale and beet salad with salmon, but there were many options ranging from healthyish to heavier comfort food. Lots of interesting dishes/flavors not usually offered with a gluten free option. Since I didn’t have anything fried I didn’t think to ask about the fryer. Food came out with everyone else’s, not marked or served by someone special or anything.
Our server was amazing. She was so friendly and patient. She knew the answers to a lot of questions and willingly asked if she didn’t know.
Walkable from Aquarium and other attractions.

I've started frequenting this restaurant over the past few months, and have had a great experience each time! Menu is marked with gf items, or some which can be made gf. Lots of egg options for brunch, naturally gluten free, and they have gluten free bread/rolls for sandwiches. Each time I've requested a gluten free meal, the server has asked appropriate follow up questions. Great food too!

I went here on a trip to Boston in November 2021 and I got a lobster roll on GF bread. I let my waitress know that I have celiac disease and I was told that they didn’t have a designated fryer so she suggested that I had roaster veggies instead of the chips or fries. I really enjoyed this place!

The Bostonia Public House does not label or identify gluten free meals, as other restaurants do, through the use of GF sticks or different plates. Unfortunately, my wife was served standard baked beans instead of GF baked beans. She learned too late that the standard baked beans have bread crumbs which are not present on the GF baked beans. I doubt that she was the first or will be the last person accidentally server gluten containing meal at this restaurant.

Our server was great. She knew what was celiac safe, and even flagged our kid’s meal when it didn’t look at expected - ensuring that they didn’t get gutened.

Sweet potato fries were marked GF. I specifically asked if there was a dedicated separate fryer. After saying they would check, they brought me the meal with the fries saying they were in fact GF. Three hours later I am feeling sick. Definitely got burned here. Be careful.

Absolutely the best GF lobster roll ever. Worth the splurge. We were told the fries and chips are cooked in dedicated fryers.

They had things marked as gluten free on their menu and said they had a dedicated gluten free fryer. However, I got extremely sick after eating here. Definitely would not trust them to ever go back.

Server even asked if cross contamination was a problem - which it is - and prepared me a gluten free meal. Delicious and no reaction.

I had an amazing meal of salmon! It was communicated with the kitchen that I had an allergy and I felt safe eating there.

I have gone to Bostonia a few times and I get sick every time. I always alert my server of my allergy but they must season their meat or cook it in something not celiac safe. I have gotten the steak salad twice and reacted both times. 0/10 for allergy friendly from me.

The food here was amazing. We ordered a charcuterie board without bread and the bartender offered us gluten free bread. I had a burger with lobster on top with a gluten free bun! It was so good.

They have a gluten free indicator on meals. I informed the server I was gluten free. I was eating breakfast, so no food yet today. The meal was delicious, but I don’t think they put my home fried potatoes in their dedicated fryer? I started reacting near the end of the meal. Swollen abdomen, heartburn, itching all day.

Great brunch. Knowledgeable and good selection of items. Prices rather high for the location, atmosphere, etc. I'd go to Legal before coming here again but it was a good experience.

All gluten free options are clearly marked on the menu. I have been here several times and have never been disappointed in my meal!
Chris was a great bar tender. I had the chicken sandwich on a GF bun and had no issues. Also got the potato gratin and Bostonian baked beans as sides and it was delicious. Hubby enjoyed the crab dip with salt and pepper chips. Chris made sure to confirm with chef for allergies. Great place to go. Nice atmosphere.

They definitely claimed to be gluten free and dairy allergy friendly but my friend got so sick from eating here and there was hair in 2 of our dishes. The waitress said she “googled” if a drink recipe was allergy friendly- it wasn’t once we actually looked up the ingredients after her throat was itchy.
The menu is on the smaller side but the stuff they have is delicious! I got the steamed mussels for an appetizers and the hot lobster roll for my dinner. Easily, the best lobster roll I've had!
Yes
Chicken sandwich was very good. Echoing the others on the dedicated fryer, so I had the fries. No issues.

They have a gluten-free menu and dedicated fryer. The food is really good but a bit expensive considering the portion sizes. The have Red Bridge beer, which is one of my favorites. I’ve eating here three time and haven’t gotten sick.

Great food, atmosphere was awesome and waitstaff was phenomenal! Went for brunch and then back for dinner bc I had trouble finding other gf options!
I always feel safe eating here! Brunch is always wonderful, and they have great options. Very accommodating and helpful.

The food was delicious and safe. They seemed well-informed about CC, etc. I had a salad, and it came on a differently shaped and designed plate than the plate my mother’s regular salad came on. They also carried my food out separately, which always puts my mind at ease.
Yes
The staff was GF knowledgeable and checked on all the items I ordered since I have other intolerances as well. Did not ask about GF bread since most breads I can’t eat. Everything was checked and food came out as expected, it was very good.
gluten free menu! wonderful options.
Nice gluten free menu. I had the cold lobster salad on a gluten free bun with dedicated fryolator French fries. All very good.

Went for dinner - excellent experience. Separate gluten free menu with many options. Kids menu was also clearly marked with gluten free options. Our server was knowledgeable about cross contamination. Separate fryers- I NIMA tested multiple items and all came back gluten free. Food was excellent. Will definitely be back .

Server said the only item with gluten they have that is fried is donuts for dessert. The donuts have their own fryer according to the server. Dedicated separate gf menu. UDIs bread used. Knowledgeable staff.
Very good Pub in downtown Boston. Dedicated fryer, great salads, burgers, entrees. Chef good at modifications. Extensive wine list. Good pick in a fix in downtown Boston.

They have a gluten free menu stating they have fried food! They don’t have a gluten free Fryolator. I don’t understand why it’s has such great reviews. BECAREFUL

I’ve been here a number of times before and usually have had a positive experience. I returned last night and told the waiter I had celiac disease before I ordered some French fries. He came back to tell me that they had gotten busy so started using their dedicated fryer to fry foods containing gluten, but the chef said it should still probably be okay. I told him it was not okay as cross contamination is a huge issue and canceled my order. I’m disappointed that they compromised a safe gluten free environment for the sake of time.

Lots of gluten free items on the menu. Hot or cold lobster rolls on gf bun. Dedicated fryer also. My vegan friends found some yummy options as well. Nice wine selection.
