Went for here for lunch and got sick from cross contamination. Ordered the club sandwich w/ gf bread and fried cod. It was made known that we can’t have gluten due to celiac disease. Waiter ensure they will be to accommodate but got sick from cross contamination.
Food is a bit expensive and taste was ok. I would be extremely cautious with this place, especially if you are on vacation. While we won’t get to experience it now, The Seaside brewery seems to have better reviews and isn’t a terribly long drive.

We have been coming here for 8 years, twice my son has can served gluten, both times the kitchen’s mistake and they admitted it (which I do appreciate). If you do eat here, make sure you double check if things don’t look right!!! All other times we’ve had great experiences and we know mistakes can be made, certainly a trip ruiner for those of us who don’t get to visit the ocean that often. There’s always staff turnover so it is hit it or miss on whether you’ll have a knowledgeable server.

Yes they have GF alternatives on the menu. We went for Thanksgiving dinner and the gf components of our dinner and desserts were HORRIBLE. The 3 stars are solely for the amazing service. Our food was not hot, the turkey was this weird loaf situation with light and dark meat smashed together. We noticed because our plates were not drowning in the gravy. Thankfully we asked for that on the side because that was nasty.
Phenomenal food and separate gluten free prep area in the kitchen. Clearly marked items on the menu, and staff is knowledgeable about celiac/gluten free options.

Swanky, scenic, and safe. Had the clam & mussels chowder which had a flavor that was neither new england or Manhattan- but yummy! My salad with salmon was a little bland and the dressing was a bit strong. But they have so many other options on their menu...husband had the tuna melt and loved it.

Extensive GF menu. The food was so good! I forgot to ask if the fryer was dedicated, I am not celiac so wasn’t terribly worried about that. They had GF fish and chips, calamari, pan fried oysters and a ton of other GF options!

This was the first restaurant stop on our trip and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere was beautiful and the service was wonderful. The fish and chips were SO GOOD and they have no other option for them except for gluten free. The tarter sauce is incredible and the fries were delicious too.

Delicious food, beautiful view. We went two nights, and loved the steak tips and brussels sprouts. The fish and chips were good, but not worth getting twice — the fish fell apart and didn’t have the crispness I appreciate in a good fish and chips dinner. The burger, which my partner ordered, was similar. Good burger, but the bun really fell apart. The staff is knowledgeable and sweet, though. Apparently in the couple that owns the restaurant, one has Celiac, hence the options and safety concerns.

I live this place! The ambiance is great, the view is beautiful, and the food is delightful. While they are clear they are not a gluten free restaurant, I feel very comfortable eating here. Their staff is knowledgeable, they have gluten free fryers, many options (such as fish and chips and chowder and soups) are naturally gluten free. Everything is clearly labeled on their menu, and if you have any questions the staff is very willing to answer them. Oh…and did I say all of their desserts are gluten free (cheesecake, cobbler, cookie with ice cream, and more).
I had their chowder, fish and chips, and a berry cobbler. All were delicious!
If you are gluten free and in Astoria, this is a must go.

Our server was extremely kind and reassuring. I was super excited to hear they have a dedicated gluten free fryer- which is so rare these days. I got to have gluten free fish and chips that were out of this world. I whole-heartedly recommend this place as there are so many gf options!

The food was excellent and there was many gluten free options! I had the Smokey tomato Mac ‘n cheese as an appetizer, wild Alaskan cod fish & chips for my entree, and for dessert the chocolate kahlua silk pie. All the food was to die for and I especially recommend the Mac ‘n cheese, the service was great too so I will definitely be back sometime.

Enjoyed a delicious GF dinner and dessert here. Very good service. The Kailua chocolate silk pie was absolute heaven for me to enjoy as someone with Celiac. A GF dessert I have never seen offered before. Try it!
This place is FABULOUS! Owner is celiac so lots of GF options including all but one dessert! I had clam and mussel chowder, and fish and chips. Both were absolutely delicious. Chocolate Kahlua silk pie was to die for. The servers were extremely pleasant and very knowledgeable about cross contamination. It was so wonderful to eat a couple meals here and not worry! Must make a reservation as it is very busy, at least on weekends.

Sooo good! My non-gf husband had the Wild Alaskan Cod Fish and Chips and said it’s flat out the best meal he’s ever had. I had the Teriyaki Chicken Burger - also wonderful! A very nice dessert menu which ought to be super take-home-able because I ate as much as I could of the substantial lunch 😉 Service was excellent. Oh yeah, they bake their own bread and it is delicious. I have celiac and leaving here with a very happy belly.

I have eaten here in the past whenever in Astoria & felt comfortable having dinner here during this trip.
Although much of their menu is noted as gluten free, clearly that does not mean that precautions are taken to prevent cross contamination.
As is my routine anywhere, I stated that I was celiac. That to prevent cross contamination I'd like the kitchen to be extra cautious, please use clean gloves, clean utensils & prep my meal on a clean surface.
I ordered their app gf Mac n cheese and a burger with a gf bun, no fries. There were no assurances that their fryer was a dedicated fryer. Our server made no real acknowledgement of my requests and I had to ask if she heard me. She really kind of blew me off and I had to repeat myself & emphasize how important this was.
The Mac n cheese is made to order, I found out later. As they have regular pasta also, there is no assurances that the gf pasta is cooked in separate water.
Upon my burger being served, I again inquired if it had been prepared as requested due to me being celiac. The totally uninterested server rolled her eyes and said "yes, it's a gf bun".
Within 25 minutes I was suffering from dreaded glutening symptoms. Hey. I get it. They want to offer gf menu items. But why bother if they aren't going to take it seriously? Clean pasta water, clean gloves, a few seconds of bothering to pass this along to the kitchen. It would've saved me this excruciating experience and kept them a customer. Sorry they couldn't be bothered. Whether this was a failure on the servers part or the kitchen, doesn't matter. It was a fail.

I’m very leery of eating out but had lunch here. I didn’t get sick! A lot of the menu is GF or can be altered to be GF (I avoid those personally - not just here but everywhere). The calamari was delicious, as was the clam and mussel chowder. They even had gf bread available.

Great experience here. Almost everything is GF or had a GF alternative cooking option. I called ahead with questions and they assured me the fryer was dedicated and that they would toast my burger buns in a separate skillet to avoid cc. When I arrived to pick up my order the staff who took my call assured me he communicated my restrictions to the kitchen directly and then once again reviewed the entire order with me which was accurate. The food was also very good...a little pricey but well worth it to feel safe. I would definitely go back and the restaurant is beautiful...would love to actually dine in post COVID.

I can't say enough good things about this beautiful place! My friend and I stopped in for brunch the weekend after Christmas. There was live music and a really extensive selection of GF items. No shared fryer so I was able to eat fish and chips, plus I had their clam and mussel chowder. For the breakfast bread they brought my friend a regular chocolate chip blueberry muffin and I was so surprised when she also placed a GF version of the same in front of me, served with lemon curd. That extra touch was very thoughtful, the food was delicious, and I did not get sick. Will definitely go back!
