Britt's Bakehouse

Britt’s Bakehouse is a wonderful treat! They ONLY sell gluten free items. Their kitchen is a dedicated GF kitchen. (They have dairy and nut free options, but I didn’t explore those). Located in Kirkwood, MO, it is far from my house, but I happened to be in the area one day and stopped in to check it out.

The staff were friendly and extremely knowledgeable about Celiac Disease and offered samples. They change their menu weekly, adding new and seasonal options, but they have regular items that are always available. Their weekly menu is regularly updated on their Facebook page.

The Gooey Butter Cookies were amazing. I tried a loaf of bread, it had a very good taste, but it spoiled very quickly. Despite the high price, I would buy it again, but have them slice it, so I could freeze in single use portions.

This bakery is pricey, but well worth it. Parking is kind of a hassle.

Everything is Gluten Free 😁. I probably ordered one of everything, including a bread loaf. It was all delicious and I will definitely be going back. They also have donuts on Friday and Saturday!

We’ve been ordering from Britt since before she had a storefront! She had great word of mouth from the GF community, and it’s continuing in her store. We’ve tried every cookie, cupcake, donut, and birthday cake, and they’re all exquisite! Their bread and rolls and holiday offerings are great and sellout fast. (She also provides the GF hamburger buns for Mike Duffy’s across the street in Kirkwood). You’d never know they are gluten free baked goods! We love Britt’s!

Absolutely delicious!! Staff is super friendly and this was our first visit. Dinner rolls are heavy but are actually really soft. Cherry chocolate chip scone was really good as were the lemon cookies!!

I was diagnosed with celiac disease this year after 24 years of enjoying all delicious pastries of the world! It has been so hard to find a place that makes sweet treats that taste like the real deal. I tried their rolls, cookies, and cupcakes. They are SO GOOD! I didn’t get sick at all and the facility is decimated gluten free and lists all of the potential allergens. If I lived nearby I would go all the time. I wish more cities had bakeries like this!! I would recommend to anyone with celiac or anyone who’s simply looking for a delicious bakery. This place is incredible!

Delicious. Even my hubby, who is new to gf, said we have to go back. I got a mint chocolate brownie to share and regretted my choice with the first bite. I should have often 2. The only thing that would make it better is a location in the Arnold area.

What a special place to get GF sweet treats. Grateful to have them in our community. My favorites are their pumpkin donuts, vanilla donuts, vanilla cake, molasses cookies at Christmas and you have to try their brown butter cookies. Staff is so kind and extra protective of their customers re other allergies, to avoid cross contamination (ex. Dairy).

This, ladies and gentleman, is like our own little European oasis smack in the middle of America! I drive almost two hours one way to come here about once a month. They take extreme care to ensure all allergens are listed and staff is extremely knowledgeable. Guys, Britt really knows what she’s doing. Lots of places are trying GF baking. She is succeeding. Period. Highly, highly recommend the following: Pumpkin Donuts (they seriously could not be more moist and perfect). Gooey Butter cake (STL specialty done right). Gooey Butter cookies. Ginger Molasses cookies. Shortbread Thumbprint cookies. Cinnamon rolls. Mini-pies…start with some of these and go from there. Thank you Britt’s Bakehouse for existing!!

Best GF dedicated bakery I have been to! Their pumpkin donuts are amazing. Chocolate cupcakes are so moist. Thumbprint cookies are a perfect shortbread. I can’t say enough good things!

We love Britt's baked goods, so asking her to make our wedding day cake and some donuts for our guests was an easy decision! Our cake (just for the two of us) was delicious, moist, and the perfect balance of flavors. Also, our GF/DF guests raved about the donuts - they loved having dessert available to them that was safe to eat!

Before the wedding, we had a phone consultation with Britt and she gave us very detailed instructions re: handling of the desserts and patiently answered all our questions. She truly made our cake dreams come to life. We wanted to put a small figurine of our dog on the side of the cake and she even sent us with a small tube of icing to put on the dog's face at the venue when we picked up the cake! She willingly and graciously accommodated every single one of our requests. We can't recommend Britt's enough. We had the best experience!

The staff were amazing and so very helpful! I went in thinking I would get a few items, and walked out with 3 boxes of gluten free treats to try! My boyfriend is trying gluten free with me and he loves the items when we normally struggle. I will be back!

Excellent dedicated gluten free bakery. Convenient location. When I visit I buy multiple items and when I get home I freeze in individual baggies. I always have a dessert to bring for myself to a party so the host doesn’t feel like they have to get something separate for me.

my absolute favorite place anywhere in the stl area. anytime i’m close i find my way here. i’ve tried so so many of their deserts including a special order cake. all have been absolutely amazing. their lemon cupcakes with raspberry buttercream - best thing they have, better than most non gluten free cupcakes i’ve had. their menu is also always changing which is nice to get a variety of options! love love love brit’s!

If I could give them 6 stars I would. Phenomenal. 10/10. All the Ooey Gooey Butter things you could ever want and MORE! If you miss the pastries and treats you ate as a kid before celiac, this is the place for you. They’re a gluten free facility! I’m sure the stars in my eyes gave it away quickly that I haven’t had these kind of options in several years.

Delicious goodies and wonderful selection. Was surprised that there was a line at opening on a Thursday morning—there was a steady line to the door pretty much the whole time we were there. I definitely recommend the lemon arancelli, the cocoa crinkles, and the maple-pecan scone.

I love this place! Not only do they have a big selection of gluten free items but they also have several muffins and cookies that are gluten AND dairy free!! The pumpkin muffins and ginger molasses cookies are my favorite. I also love that they are small and locally owned.

Ok. I drove 45 minutes out of my way in a truck that gets 15 miles per gallon just to go to this bakery. The cinnamon rolls were to die for. The stuffed molasses cookies brought tears to my eyes. The cupcakes were moist and so good. I’m thankful this bakery is over 6 hours away otherwise I would be a regular and would need to exercise excessively.

Sooooo awesome. Was in town visiting for soccer and drove 20 minutes (each way) two days in a row. Have been the best baked goods I’ve had since celiac diagnosis. They have donuts on the weekend and we tried about everything else as well. Can’t recommend enough!

So good! Glad I stopped by on vacation. Their dairy-free selection wasn't huge, but there were still several flavors of cupcakes, cookies, and cake truffles I could have. I was amazed by them - even after sitting in the box for a couple days on my trip, they tasted fresh and moist! One of the best gluten free chocolate chip cookies I've ever had - they're typically so dry. Definitely recommend! I wish I had bought more when I stopped in.
