Great food and fast service. Safe place for celiacs.
My son loves this place. As parents we love it too knowing that they are very mindful of my sons condition
Both the sweet potato and regular fries were amazing; several interesting gf dipping sauces to choose from (which were well labeled). I made the mistake of getting the Sonoma Valley salad, which was bland and flavorless and was mostly iceberg lettuce. Lesson learned. My fiancé had the OMG burger, which was well-named... I was drooling just smelling it! Don't make my mistake and get a salad and you will likely have a 5 star experience!
Good selection of gluten free items. Bun was nice and soft. My only complaint is that the burger itself could've been seasoned a little better (even just salt and pepper would've been good). Fries were good, service was great. Will definitely visit again.
Always nice to go somewhere with a dedicated frier. I just wish their chipotle mayo dipping sauce was GF!
Delicious burgers and fantastic service along with friendly attention to detail make Burger 21 a top pick for my wife who was recently diagnosed with Celiac Disease. Recommended by our local Celiac support group. All gluten free items ordered arrive at table side with a GF sticker. My wife has eaten more burgers in the last 6 weeks than she's eaten in her 40 years of existence!
Amazing fries. Burger was good but my bun fell apart so easily. Was disappointed in that. I would return though for the fries! Staff was great too!
The best gluten-free hamburger bun I've had - hands down! Also, many of their sauces for their burgers are gluten-free. The sauces are conveniently labeled. They also offer some gluten-free beer and hard cider. The staff and management are always very friendly and helpful.
The staff was extremely knowledgeable and attentive as well as the owner, Alex who took the time to answer any questions and ask for suggestions. If you haven't tried Burger 21, please do and bring your friends/family... I know we will!! It's so nice to feel normal while eating a juicy burger on a soft bun, elbow deep in a basket of fries! All GFCF when ordered as such :0)
Excellent burgers with tasty buns! Excellent service too! Staff is knowledgeable. Restaurant is very clean too
I have been eagerly awaiting for this place to open and it did not disappoint. The restaurant has a modern seating style where you order then take a number and they bring the food to your table. The staff were all extremely friendly and wonderfully attentive. They answered tons of questions about their policies of the gluten free orders. I really appreciated the sticker that verified my order was gluten free and handled properly. The manager met with me and talked to me about their dairy free options as well and took a photo of the ingredients for the gluten free bun so I could share with my family who are also gluten and dairy free. My burger was awesome...it had been a really long time since I got a great burger on a good bun. Highly recommend this place. Ask for Alex the manager if you have any questions.
Dedicated gluten free space. Everything came out with a gluten free sticker, too. Have been twice and did not get sick either time. The food here was delicious. I was so happy to order a hamburger that had a bun, and a bun that tasted like a regular bun at that. The burgers were just the right size (not gigantic like some places), and the milkshakes were made to order from fresh ingredients. Sorey Five Guys, but this is my new go to place when in Albany!
This is a new location. The food was just as good as always and I didn't get sick at all. I had a pick up order and had trouble finding the place. The owner had them cook new fries for me because the original ones were getting old. I'll definitely be back.
Great experience! Gluten free menu, dedicated french fry frier with regular and sweet potato fries. Even the pump sauce bar is labeled which sauces are gluten free. I didn't try the gluten free bun, but the burger and both kinds of fries were delicious! There is even the fancy pick your flavor soft drink machine. I did not get sick. I have found my new go to burger spot!
I stopped here on my drive from Buffalo to Boston. After terrible luck with food in WNY, this was a very welcome stop. They have a separate menu with quite a few options. I sat at the milkshake bar, and the woman behind the counter explained that there was a completely separate GF area of the kitchen (or perhaps a separate kitchen all together), and her decision to work there stemmed from the fact that she had gluten sensitivity and other food allergies and felt safe at work. I got a plain burger and sweet potato fries, and they were absolutely delicious! I wish I'd had room to try one of their GF milkshakes, because the options looked wonderful! There are multiple Burger21 locations, but none in cities that I frequent. Come to Boston!
Okay I have not eaten here yet, but it sounds great. I called to clarify some things: Are the shakes gf? The answer I was given was YES, they can be made gf. Might want to ask more questions, but it sounds good. Secondly, it lists gf beer, but they mean cider - Angry Orchard. I wish they would carry my favorite beer - Red Bridge. The ciders don't really go with food.
Wow! That was the BEST cheeseburger I have eaten since 1997! I am amazed at what a difference the bun made! The burger was cooked the way I wanted, not pre-cooked. Burger 21 just made my Top 3 favorite restaurants! Thank you Monica, y'all do a great job!
Amazing!!!!!!!!! They are so careful with gluten free and even put stickers on them to be safe! The milkshakes are safe and delicious. The service is amazing and kind and the burgers are out of this world!!! This deserves way more than five stars, definitely celiac friendly😊😊👍👍👍👍👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ -Colleen, her daughter
Very good fast casual burger place. We went yesterday while visiting Albany from NYC. We had read the good reviews on this app and are so glad they we true! Nice place, separate prep area for GF food and they clearly marked our children's GF food and brought it to our table separately. We had no issues afterwards (and our one daughter is extremely sensitive). It was nice to be able to order GF fries and shakes. Their condiments were also clearly labeled as GF (or not). We will be back next time we visit the Albany area.
All i can say is WOW!! They are amazing here!! My burger and fries were delicious. Every one here is so friendly and accommodating and they treat celiac seriously. They label your food with a gluten free sticker and bring it to the table separately. I can not wait to go back and try all the burgers. No stress -no worry -just enjoy your food here.
Staff was knowledgeable. I skipped the fries since I'm paranoid. I don't eat out much at all so this was a leap. Burger was good (not amazing but good), milkshake was delicious. Food was brought out separately and marked. They said they make the milkshake with a separate spindle to avoid cc. Good experience, didn't get sick.
They cook the burgers to order. Friendly staff and love the fries. The one thing I don't like is the overly processed sauces. Otherwise good eats! The GF bun is the bomb.com.
Great burgers! Nice staff!!
quite good, gluten free bun and fries.
Excellent food and service. My wife, (who has a gluten allergy), and I have eaten here 3 times, and my wife has had no issues with cross contamination at all. They seem to have a good understanding of what the gluten allergy really means, and take it seriously.
Outstanding! Really knowledgeable and careful. Our new favorite burger place.
3 out of 4 in our family are celiac and we have never been contaminated. We eat here every two weeks and have been well taken care of (especially by Jack)! We love Burger 21! One tip that I was too shy to stick to when I was first diagnosed-- always ask for the manager if you need to order gluten free!! Employees often don't care because they are not individually responsible for the mistakes of the franchise. Managers are!!! Once my son was diagnosed with celiac as well, I got over my shyness for his health!
So, I was really hopeful about this place after reading reviews. I don't know if my experience was bad because the cashier that took our order was clueless about celiac. I told her I was celiac and needed GF, then asked her if the fries are cooked in the same fryer basket with breaded food and she proceeded to show me the different size baskets that the fries come in (small, medium, large)... That should've been my first clue. The burger was extremely salty, greasy and undercooked. I woke up later that night hurling my guts up.. :-( I gave it 3 stars because they do have a lot of options that may be safe for a non-celiac.
Loved my gluten free pizza burger and sweet potato fries. I am in the introductory phase of the Autoimmune Protocol (AIP). I have only been to two restaurants in four months. Three hours later and I feel good. I usually have symptoms by now. Good sign that there was no contamination. So glad because the burger was very yummy. I don't think the beef was grass fed, but worth the opportunity to eat out.
This restaurant has a dedicated fryer, a condiment bar with "GF" label on many of the sauces, and a GF bun. I ordered a GF bun with cheese for my 6 year old daughter. They made it after many frustrated keystrokes at the cash register thingy, but they charged me for an adult burger...around $8 I think. The only vegetarian GF option is fries and ice cream.
