Saw the review from the same day so headed over and also had a great experience. New gloves, fresh scoop or new/separately packaged ingredients. So nice to have a place that can handle food safety without it being a big deal!

I stopped here on a layover and was extremely impressed. As soon as I said I had celiac disease, the staff immediately changed his gloves and got a fresh scooper. I requested that he also use fresh ingredients and he accommodated with no problem. They went out of their way to create a safe bowl for me even though it slowed things down for them. Would highly recommend this place and I will be back.

IM SO HAPPY! After seeing wonderful reviews, I stopped by quickly on the way to my flight. The staff member immediately changed his gloves when I said “celiac disease” which was so reassuring! I asked him to use fresh ingredients and it was no problem. Built my own bowl and it was delicious.

There’s a note on the menu telling customers to “ask about gluten free options.” When I inquired about gf, server asked if I had celiac… I have celiac and said yes, so they changed gloves and made my burrito bowl from containers not shared with regular no gf orders. They have a system. So far so good & I’ll update if things go south.

This is a great option at O’Hare. They asked if I was celiac, told me the options, changed gloves, and used ingredients that had not been on the table. Only guac needed to be from the table but the employee used a new spoon and scooped from the back. I was very comfortable. The food was delicious and fresh.

This place is safe, but very restricted. Their cooked vegetables are not gluten free, so you are limited to rice, beans, and meat - not good for vegetarians, but I respect their knowledge and safety for celiacs

I ordered a bowl from here and was really happy with their knowledge of celiac disease. They asked if it was for medical and then specifically asked for celiac. They explained I could have a rice bowl and took precautions to avoid all cross contamination. It was really nice being able to safely eat in an airport!

The menu sign had a note that said “ask about our gluten free menu items!” I asked if the menu item I was interested in (burrito bowl with veggies, black beans, and cheese) was GF. The worker briefly thought about it, confirmed it was, and asked if I was celiac and needed him to change his gloves. The food was delicious and very filling and flavorful. I didn’t notice any symptoms after (though I’m newer to this and not great at recognizing when I’m more or less symptomatic). Highly recommend.

Very impressed with the level of care they took in making my food and explaining me my options. Although they don’t not have a formal gluten-free menu, they are very well-versed in what has been crossed contaminated and what is safe. They do not share utensils, and he washed his hands before placing on his gloves. They asked me if I was celiac or sensitive and told me what to do in accordance. Highly recommend!

I requested help with gluten free. Was asked right away if I had celiac. All ingredients were grabbed from new bins down below, with the exception of meat, rice and beans. It is very similar to chipotle, so if you are comfortable with their protocol, you'll be comfortable here. He used new bowls to scoop my rice beans and meat, and he followed my bowl the whole way through. Was happy to have this available!! GF is not marked on menu, only vegetarian.

I walked up, let them know I’m on a medical diet (no gluten, no dairy), and was rudely told there was nothing for me except plain chicken. This was a surprise, having seen positive reviews here and many apparently safe options on their menu. I asked about rice bowls and was told, “fine, plain chicken over rice, but nothing else—no beans, no vegetables; nothing.”

ORD is always busy, so I don’t think it was the morning rush. My strong impression was that they just didn’t want to deal with me or take any precautions for me, though I thanked them for being so careful and left. I suppose that refusing me any service at all is one way of being extra-cautious.

Smoothie place next door was fine. Thankfully I’m in the habit of bringing my own snacks when flying. All in all, my experience here in DEC 2023 was nothing like what other reviews had to say.

They pulled the toppings out fresh to ensure there was no cross contamination and even had little containers of sour cream and salsa prepared already. There’s a sign that says to ask about their gluten free options. The server asked if I have celiac. When I said yes he told me what I could have. He washed his hands, put on new gloves and pulled all of the toppings from a different area. I’m vegetarian but he told me the veggies are cooked on a shared grill and weren’t safe. I ended up with a rice and bean bowl dressed up with lots of toppings.

Highly recommend. When I told them I’m celiac the worker immediately changed gloves, informed me what wouldn’t be safe, and opened up fresh bags of lettuce, cheese, etc to dress my burrito bowl.

I asked for wheat free. The guy at the burrito press didn’t really understand, but an older gentleman said “celiac?”, and I said “yeah”. He then took the order up himself and took all of the ingredients from the fridge (rather than the normal work area) with their own spoons. The taste was great!

It was clear that they have a set protocol for celiac orders. The person helping me put new gloves over his existing gloves and requested new ingredients for the bowl I ordered. I wish the menu indicated the gf choices but I am very appreciative that they had staff trained on celiac disease and that I was able to get a safe meal at the airport.

They ask if you're celiac or intolerant and tell you the options accordingly. For celiacs you can only get the bowl but that is already one more thing than everywhere else! For me they changed gloves and used all new bags and new ingredients, reducing cross contamination as much as possible. I haven't gotten sick, so I give it 5 stars as the food is great and it's a gret option for celiacs while travelling (which we know can be a pain)

I have celiac. I want to provide some details here as I think anyone who has struggled with this disease will appreciate them. When I told the guy on the burrito line that I was interested in GF food, he asked specifically if I had celiac. When I said yes, he immediately took off his plastic gloves and disappeared in the back. He came back with wet hands - he had washed them - and then put on new gloves. For celiac, he recommend the bowl with either chicken or steak. He recommended against other items. Then, as he made his way down the line, he used a small disposable cup (like you would for a serving of ice cream) to scoop out the items - lettuce, tomato, corn, etc. I really appreciate this since there was no way there could be contamination from a contaminated spoon. Overall, I was impressed with their process, which reflected good understanding about safety. And - he cared. Food was good.

Amazing!! I was told exactly what I could and couldn't eat as a celiac, they were kind and took it seriously, and I got a burrito bowl that's good. Couldn't ask for more. I got a little emotional at the checkout because it was all so easy and respectful.

Five stars for safety. I watched my bowl being made and their practices were safe! The experience was stressful—when I told the server I had celiac he said, “I’m taking my break” and stormed away. His supervisor on the line called him back and he begrudgingly made my bowl (I got the sense that he was new and I came at a time when he was feeling overwhelmed). I know celiac can be frustrating to accommodate but I was already feeling anxious when I walked up, as I always do when ordering somewhere new, and had been friendly and inquired about whether they could accommodate celiac. The reaction made me want to cry. I think the experience here depends on the day and the employee. Their practices are excellent relative to most airport restaurants.

Their overhead menu simply read "ask us about the gluten free options" so when it was my turn to order and I said I had a gluten allergy, they asked if it was a sensitivity or Celiac. I am Celiac, so they then proceeded to change gloves and told me the chicken or steak were safe. I chose red rice, chicken, and a little bit of black beans. The same server stayed with me for the whole construction of my bowl. For cheese he opened a brand new bag for me. For salsa, he used a new plastic cup to scoop. I really appreciate how much care they took! The chips are safe, too.y husband and I had a very long layover so it was worth going through security lines twice to get such a safe and filling meal! My bowl was also packaged separately from my husband's.

Mentioned I was a celiac and had outstanding service - explained what I could safely order, changed gloves, used cups to pour ingredients into the bowl, and opened new containers just for me. They clearly have a lot of experience with celiacs. Food was excellent as well - highly recommended for travel through O’Hare.

I thought everyone was kidding, however I needed a place to eat on a layover, and airports are notoriously awful for celiacs. I have my bag with snacks, but we all know we'd prefer a burrito bowl. They were extremely knowledgeable, immediately asked if I was Celiac, changed their gloves and all ingredients came from previously unopened stashes with new spoons. I almost cried. I wasn't going to be able to eat for another like 6 hours after an already 3 hour flight. Thank God for places like this. I got a burrito bowl with chicken. No tortillas are safe as they're cross contaminated.

Great food, great options, changed his gloves too. Everything I wanted was portioned out in small cups to prevent contamination. Very helpful. Carne Asada was delicious
