I was excited to try this place after reading others’ positive experiences. I got takeout (GF free injera, Doro Alichi) and tested my food with my Nima sensor before eating. Unfortunately it indicated gluten found, so I didn’t eat it. I tested another family member’s dish (vegan combo, GF injera) with hopes of switching, but that came back positive for gluten as well. My guess is that there is some cross contamination (maybe with the spices?), which shows up on the Nima test for anything greater than 20ppm–but of course, hard to know for sure! Just wanted to share this experience with others so they can make an informed decision for themselves.

We are a family of celiacs and vegan. Most of the items are gluten free except a few, so naturally there's not much chance for contamination. In addition the staff are well aware and use fresh gloves, utensils and serve the injera in a separate disposable vessel. The taste is great too. Definitely a place I would feel safe going to.

Eaten here twice now and both times the food was delicious and the staff was very knowledgeable about celiac. I got the gluten free injera and the waiter showed me how the color is different than the wheat containing injera so I felt very safe.

Delicious Ethiopia food, and gluten-free injera available.
They offer a gluten free injera bread option, and most of the menu seems to be naturally gluten free. Our server did require checking and reminding to get the safe bread.
