My celiac daughter ate here in May and was very, very sick a few hours later.

I love Cafe Sunflower. Their pad Thai is my favorite. And they always have delicious herbal iced tea. Their chocolate cake is amazing. As someone who is very sensitive, I can say that I’ve always come away symptom-free. Bonus—my vegan friends love it!

They had several GF options. I had the quinoa bowl. It was delicious.

So GLAD I went alone and did not subject my bf to this- a vegetarian/vegan place, but shockingly only a few gf options! There was a long wait, the dining room is very bohemian/hippy, and the older lady at the hostess stand was not polite (here in The South, hospitality standards r high). My food was gross and I left hungry. i had a spring roll type appetizer that tasted like it just had lettuce and a couple light veggies in it, with a somewhat tasty orange dipping sauce. The salad was iceberg lettuce w a spicy, yucky dressing. i had hoped to find mixed greens w several veggies on it and a homemade herbed vinagrette- like at Farm Burger-not! I had pad Thai for main meal and the sauce tasted like something from a powder mix. Overly thick, dreamsicle-colored, chalky bland flavor with a disjointed pepper kick in it. The noodles were cooked to mush. Gross. I had wanted to try the 3 bean chili, but at $13 a bowl, it was overpriced. The server was attentive. Do not recommend. Overpriced Nightmare.
