Gluten Free menu and now Gluten Free pasta! My advice- bring your own bread and ask the server for your own spice/oil dish.
Just had very gluten-less experiance for Supercross 2016 at Daytona Speedway. We ate dinner across the street and they have GF items for every corse and offer GF pasta sub. Server was knowledgable. It's been a couple hours and i'm feeling good. Yea!
Not to many gfree options. Our server was very good with my questions. I will return to try other options.
I hate giving bad reviews, but if you have celiac I think you need to know about my experience here. I ordered pasta off their gluten free menu. It was delicious (however, it was pretty pricey and my portion was small), but I've never been so sick since I was diagnosed with celiac in 2010. This could not have just been cross-contamination. I couldn't get out of bed for 2 days.
This was the first meal out after being diagnosed with Celiacs. The waitress was helpful, food was very tasty, but it was obviously cross contaminated in the kitchen, as I was very ill about 10 minutes after I finished eating. I reported it to the regional manager...hopefully they'll educate the kitchen staff better.
Lots of gluten free menu items, clearly identified on the menu. No having to ask for a special menu.
The food was DELICIOUS! As someone new to being GF, this was my first dining out experience. I researched the menu beforehand. I had the lettuce wraps, a side salad with house dressing, pollo rosa Maria, and garlic mash...ALL labeled GF. Unfortunately, I'm writing this review from my restroom where I'll seemingly be all night. I was so excited about eating out. Guess I'll stick to making dinner for myself.
Excellent selection of delicious gluten free meals! Staff understands and treats me great each and every time I visit this location. They are the nicest and friendliest employees there! So glad they have Gluten free pasta- it is great to be able to have it! Love this place!
My husband has Celiac and this is one of the few places we eat in Columbia. Even though the salads are supposed to be gluten free, he doesn't eat them, because he gets sick. Nothing else that is marked GF makes him sick. wait staff, kitchen, everyone is very familiar with Celiac. highly recommend this restaurant
Had a great GF meal with my family. Went on a Monday night and enjoyed the special for $13-15 / person. Soup or salad, entree and dessert (some of the fancier ones cost $2 more). Service was quick (ask for Chase as the sever). Found 1 regular noodle in the GF pasta dish. None of the 3 of us who are GF got sick. GF minestrone soup & Gelato were also yummy! Just make you let them know you are GF bc pasta can be made both ways (reg and GF). Other family members who ordered off the regular menu left satisfied. Husband and son enjoyed the soft bread and olive oil dipping sauce.
I ate there on 7-17-2016 and had a bad reaction to the food. I had the chicken Marsala with mash potatoes and the Sicilian chicken soup (gf version). I have eaten here 3 times before with no problems but I always had the prosciutto wrapped pork chops with mash potatoes and broccoli. Just another restaurant I will cross off my list of places that I could eat at. I am very disappointed.
I went there and we made sure to tell the waiter about my allergies and he took very good care of it. I tried ordering the gluten free pasta with the sauce and meatballs but he made sure to warn me that the meatballs are NOT gluten free so I ordered something else and I didn't get sick and they are very good about not cross contaminating if you tell them about your allergies. There are also a lot of gf appetizers.
I typically give the benefit of the doubt but three chances are too much. I've eaten at 3 carrabbas in three different states and each messed up our order. 1st time they forgot a gf entree and put croutons only wife's gf salad. You can't just share when they forget the one thing you can eat. 2nd time croutons on salad and put shrimp instead of chicken in our entree (shell fish allergy in addition to celiac). Each time the receipt stated gf and no shrimp, but was still wrong. Last night we tried again using the gift cards we got from the first two mistakes. I clearly stated we needed gf and that we were using gift cards from mistakes with previous orders. My wife's order of gf Alfredo had regular Alfredo noodles. We thought it looked different and luckily my wife didn't eat any before we called and checked. Again they apologized and offered to remove the charge. That's all well and good, but my issue is with carrabbas apparent indifference to food allergies. If you advertise a gf menu, you have to be willing to provide safe meals. Carrabbas obviously has a very poor training program for food allergies and a lack of accountability by their management. Eat at your own peril, but we've given up.
Their GF food is delicious but I don't think their kitchen is trained or understands Celiac's requirements. I've been sick 3/4 times severely from CC on pasta, pork loin, and soup. I've tried a variety of orders and GF items and have been sick 75% of time. love, love, love their food but think this location is poorly trained on GF preparation.
Excellent meal! At first the sauce was a bit too thin but the manager was wonderful about fixing it & even making it up to us by reducing the check. He also offered to remake my daughter's so that we would all eat together but we declined. Everyone was very apologetic & helpful!
Sadly, this place is not Celiac safe. I've been to many different locations since Carraba's is my favorite italian restaurant, and this one gives them a bad rep. I made the server aware that I had a "gluten allergy" (celiac). Ordered the chicken bryan with gluten free alfredo, and a side caesar salad with no crutons. She brought our salads out and mine seemed fine. I started to eat, and then I bit into a small piece of a cruton. It definitely caught me off guard because I haven't been served gluten, much less eaten any, since being diagnosed with Celiac Disease. it made me extremely upset knowing I'd end up being very sick later on due to the carelessness of the kitchen staff. The manager apologized but didn't seem sincere. I would have told them to keep my food had my husband not told me I needed to eat. My alfredo ended up being extremely bland, and my chicken was still raw halfway through eating it. I didn't say a word because I was just ready to go. Got the bill and they didn't compensate me for anything. The manager actually came by wanting to know how my entree was and I just said "fine" when I should have just given her a piece of my mind. I will never return to this location. They don't give a damn about gluten intolerant customers, and their food is just not up to par with the rest of the chain. I'd say it definitely needs new management.
Order to go from here often. I've only had one occasion where it could've ended poorly and the person bringing my food to my car (to go order) caught it (a piece of regular pasta was mixed in with my gf pasta) and apologized for the wait bc they wanted to remake my entire meal. He saved me totally. Amazing service.
Their gluten free pasta with bolognese sauce is so good! I have always had good luck here and the staff has always seemed very knowledgeable.
Menu labeled well, server knowledgable, and no reaction after eating there. Didn't love my meal (preference not quality issue) but it was good overall.
I ate here tonight and found a strand of normal spaghetti in the middle of my gluten free pasta with bolognese. The manager was very apologetic and seemed to take the issue seriously, but it still happened. The manager assured us they cooked the GF pasta in a separate pot and use separate utensils so he was not sure how it happened. But I am now bracing to get very sick :(
