Short review: 10/10. Delicious empanadas, cute cafe, very kind staff. Will be going back. Long review: I am a new celiac and WOW this place was amazing. My best friend (a happy gluten eater) came with me, and we were both blown away with how delicious these empanadas were. You can get a variety of empanadas and rolls in store, but then you can order frozen ones for home. I scooped up some spinach and mushroom ones- eating them at home now!

This is one of the most amazing little caf├ęs I've ever been to!! The entire restaurant is gluten free and they have the most delicious food. They serve delicious empanadas, rolls and soups. I would recommend their sun-dried tomato roll and also just the original. Their empanadas are all delicious as well. Try a smoothie, you can customize them and my sister and I always get the strawberry-banana because it's the best I've ever had. 10/10 would recommend, a wonderful quick lunch or snack.

I love the grass fed beef empanadas as well as the bacon and egg. The best part is you can purchase frozen ones to have at a later time. The egg ones are great for breakfast.

Whenever I'm in Chicago I eat at Cassava. The empanadas and bread rolls are the best (literally)! My (celiac) daughter loves the chicken empanadas, while I simply can't decide on a favorite. If there was one in Seattle, I'd be tempted to stop in everyday.

Cassava uses the Brazilian pao de queijo dough for the cheese balls and empanadas. My friend and I loved the taste and texture. It's crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Not dry at all which is rare for GF items. We tried 5 empanadas and they were all good. The owner is Celiac and recommended other places to try. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quick bite in that area!

One of my favorite gluten free restaurants. I love that I can grab them frozen when I want to eat them at home too. The empanadas are awesome and the hot chocolate is divine. I recommend the steak, pork or beef empanadas. This is a very niche laid back place (think loc coffee house) so don't expect a lot of options or a server but trust me when I say, you don't need them because the empanadas are all you need.

filling was definitely better than the crust. empanadas are made in advance and frozen, heated for eight minutes upon ordering, and then become mushy during the reheating process as the cheese and vegetables melts. the only one to make it out of the process decently was the chicken. you could tell the crust was gluten free, and that was a fail to me. I could have used a soup and salad with my empanadas too.

I love Cassava. The empanadas are delicious as well as the chili. I always make sure to bring some frozen empanadas home for my son who is also gluten free. If you are in the Wrigleyville area, I highly recommend you stop in.

Loved it here, so good. Been many times and have never had issues. Also thought it was great you could take frozen empanadas and rolls to bake at home.

The entire menu is gluten-free. The breads and empanadas are made from cassava root (aka yucca/tapioca). They are very tasty, and I'm very luck to have them in my neighborhood.
