We ordered for pick up, and got to meet Marcos. The food is AMAZING and Marcos himself was so kind and helpful! One of the nearby restaurants serves their food if you're looking for a sit-down experience.

I cannot say enough how delicious both the empanadas and pizzas were. My friends (who are not gluten free) didn't even notice a difference. And most importantly, I got to get my empanada fix!! It's been years since I've been able to eat them.

My long term partner has celiac and we are very discerning about places. She hadn't eaten out in 5 years and then we decided to try this establishment a few months ago. It's amazing. Delish. We ate it multiple times a week for a while :) Has been wonderfully safe for her. The pizza is good. The empanadas are awesome - not greasy, not too stuffed. I couldn't recommend it more strongly.

Dedicated gluten free. :) Only able to order for delivery or pickup. Use qr code to order. Not allowed inside. No seating area. Food was tasty. Pizza little over cooked, but still tasted fine.

It was a treat. Gluten-free junk-food but I appreciated it because I don’t get many “cheat days”.

100% GF. No risk of cross contamination since they are 100% gf. We’ve been ordering their pizzas and empanadas for over a year. Delish and safe.

Definitely gluten-free, and what I believe, is celiac friendly as well since they dont cook/bake anything other than their super delicious empanadas and desserts. I have tried all vegetarian options and cant say enough. I've told many people who are now hooked.

Dedicated facility. I love the empanadas and Brazilian cheese bread. I’ve tried multiple flavors and look forward to trying them all. I love the fact the food is not only gluten free, but also gum free, which is a problem ingredient for me. I have gotten a sampler box delivered to my house, frozen. I’ve also found items in the freezer section of Mariano’s. And the best part: I’ve never gotten sick!

Wow, these were amazing! I tried all of the pastured meat options as well as the veggie empanadas and the guava minis. They generally come frozen, but you can also ask for the kitchen to heat up your order before pick-up/delivery. Just a note that this is not a sit-down restaurant.

With limited options in Chicago for a truly gluten free kitchen, Cassava Empanadas is the place to order delivery or pick-up from. Each empanada variety has its own unique flavor with the best ingredients, and are encased in the toothsome empanada dough. If you have a sweet tooth and are looking to have dessert or something to accompany coffee in the morning, the guava and cheese or the apple empanadas are delicious options, and pair well with the bacon, egg and cheese. I have tried all of the bites and savory empanadas as well and all are my favorite. Make sure to also add the house-made chimichurri, it’s great to accompany the savory empanadas, and lasts about a week. I would recommend ordering enough empanadas or bites to put in the freezer because once you have them, you will be hooked.

This place is amazing! I just finished a pizza which was fantastic. We cooked them two ways one in the toaster oven on the rack and one in the oven on a pan (the recommended way). Toaster oven all the way/for crisper crust.

I was absolutely delighted to find out about Cassava! My family stopped by today and was amazed by the empanadas!I love tapioca/cassava flour, and this was just the perfect place to grab lunch. The pork empanada was a bit sweet, but the beef was heavenly. The staff was very accommodating, and well trained. To address the negative reviews, I thought that the filling was not mushy at all, and that the cassava root is naturally GF, so the recipe is not adjusted at all. Being able to tell that a flour is GF is not always a bad thing. In all, a quaint, well informed delicious restaurant for everyone to enjoy, not just GF's

holy cow. I never knew this place existed. I am beyond pleased to have found it. You can find them on grubhub or on their website. They deliver and the price isn't bad. I was worried it would wind up being money badly spent, however, the food was amazingly tasty, the delivery was quick, and the food was filling. Thank you Cassava for providing healthy options that are also blindingly amazing!

This place is AMAZING! It isn't listed as an option on the gluten free features list, but they have delicious empanadas. I had the beef and cheese empanada as well as the chicken, and they were incredible. My mom, who is not gluten free, also had their empanadas, and she loved them too. There is also gluten free rolls with stuff inside, which are also delicious. The chocolate one was my favorite, but I also had the cheese and bacon empanadas, which were both fabulous. I highly recommend you check this place out. The people there are very friendly, and there is a nice space to eat.

Great food, however, unsanitary! The guys who made the Empanadas did not have on gloves or hair nets. They also put used mini plastic cups to separate the empanadas when placing them in the oven.

I can't say how much I love this place enough!!!!! They are so kind and the empanadas are AMAZING!! My mom doesn't get the whole "GF" thing and ordered extras to take home and freeze because it was so delicious!!!! Go here and support this local business!!

Long review: I am a new celiac and WOW this place was amazing. My best friend (a happy gluten eater) came with me, and we were both blown away with how delicious these empanadas were. You can get a variety of empanadas and rolls in store, but then you can order frozen ones for home. I scooped up some spinach and mushroom ones- eating them at home now!

This is one of the most amazing little cafés I've ever been to!! The entire restaurant is gluten free and they have the most delicious food. They serve delicious empanadas, rolls and soups. I would recommend their sun-dried tomato roll and also just the original. Their empanadas are all delicious as well. Try a smoothie, you can customize them and my sister and I always get the strawberry-banana because it's the best I've ever had. 10/10 would recommend, a wonderful quick lunch or snack.

Whenever I'm in Chicago I eat at Cassava. The empanadas and bread rolls are the best (literally)! My (celiac) daughter loves the chicken empanadas, while I simply can't decide on a favorite. If there was one in Seattle, I'd be tempted to stop in everyday.
