I eat here all the time and have never gotten sick! It’s very tasty and I’m pretty sure the only thing with gluten on the menu is their burritos which use a flour tortilla.

Delicious! The only problem is there's a bit of a language barrier sometimes.

Their in store menu no longer has gluten free identifiers on it. I don't trust it.

I’ve been here three times so far and I absolutely love it. I always order online and ordered a GF Quesadilla & Pineapple Tamales and I LOVE IT! I’m not celiac but am extremely sensitive to gluten. They offer quesadillas with a gf tortilla and tamales are typically made gluten free already but I made a note in my order to make sure it’s prepared carefully and they’ve always been great about it. I highly recommend!

Great food! Very easy to eat at and have never had any cross contamination issues! LOVE the elotes and pineapple tamales!

The staff is very knowledgeable here about celiac and there are many gf options. I eat here a lot and have never gotten sick. This is a very safe place!

Amazing! Never get sick and the tacos and tamales are so good

Super delicious tacos and tamales! Tons of gluten-free choices. Tacos and tamales are gluten-free and they can make a gluten-free quesadilla too! The staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable in answering all of my questions about cross-contamination. They have all gluten-free orders prepared on their own surface separately (the kitchen is visible behind the order counter and the cashier showed it to me!). Highly recommend. Have not tried the other location so can't speak to its cross-contamination practices.

The food is great. The prices are reasonable/low. The manager did a great job communicating with his employees about my celiac. Highly recommended.

This place was a hidden gem! It was a tiny little store front in a strip mall. I had called ahead and the man who answered the phone assured me they take allergies seriously by cooking for celiacs in a separate area. Menu is marked with gf icons and nearly everything is gluten free, all tacos tamales sides even quesadillas. Fish tacos got a 4 stars only because I have had more flavorful tacos. Security and service got 5+ stars, and the tamale was excellent and got 5 stars in my opinion. My friend who ate the elotes said they were the best she ever had. Definitely worth a visit when you stop in Ann Arbor!

We just moved here from CO and all the Mexican was so bland. So happy to find this place with much more authentic food, as well as an aware staff. As a GF (Celiac) vegetarian, I wasn't sure if I could find something at an authentic place, but they were so helpful, and the food was amazing!

We were SO excited to find this hidden gem today after the U of M game! The food was absolutely delicious & the owner came out to our table personally, multiple times! He made us feel so welcome- we can't wait to go back! He also mentioned that if you have a severe gluten allergy they will even take extra precautions, which I truly appreciated. The best part was that the food was authentic & delicious and this GFMexicanGirl is very picky, but my husband & I were both impressed!

Friendly staff and owner. I ordered the tamales (1 pork, 1 chicken) with rice and black beans and a side of chips and guacamole. There are so many gluten free options and they are very knowledgable about celiac disease and cross contamination. We will be back!

Ate here with no issues. The tamales are divine. Chelas also has a station in the U of M hospital cafeteria that I've eaten at many times. The owners are there and always reassure me of their gf items and their understanding of cross contamination.

Great Mexican food. Most food is naturally gluten free, but make sure to tell them you need it gluten free.
Staff seems knowledgeable about gluten. Most of their products are made without gluten ingredients; the main exception is the burritos and quesadillas for which they can substitute corn tortillas.
Even though most of the menu is GF, it is important to tell them that you want your food prepared GF. Good food @ reasonable price.

Nothing on menu to indicate what's gluten free. Menu doesn't even distinguish between corn and flour tortillas.
When I asked about gluten-free, I was told only to order items on corn torts—no mention was made of anything else.

Delicious food and friendly staff.
Wow,flavorful authentic Mexican food! I have Celiac Diease and am highly reactive - I have had no problems since eating there yesterday. The food was wonderful! Most of the menu is GF and happily - SOY FREE TOO! The best part, the prices were incredibly reasonable and not more expensive because it was GF. It was the best tasting meal I have had out in years. Very family friendly, has an old diner feel, not the romantic date place, but you can order ahead and take it to go. Yum!

Authentic Mexican food. Owner is celiac so knows his stuff with most of the menu is gluten free.
