The food was excellent. It didn’t get a higher rating foe multiple reasons: there was a lot of food that was not gluten-free, the menu isn’t marked, the waiter steered me towards the salads when I asked what I could have as someone who has Celiac, and the waiter wasn’t super helpful when I asked about the steaks and complements. Also, everything is expensive. For a place that expensive I expect more when it comes to labeling and waitstaff helpfulness. We were in the bar area so maybe we just got a bum waiter, but still.

Excellent service with exceptionally good food. Posh atmosphere but casual attire was acceptable. Near concert venue on Northerly Island. Reservations or call ahead recommended.

We had a wonderful dinner here. Fancy fish/steakhouse with many gluten free dishes. Wait staff has all the food ingredients on their tablets so they can quickly tell what is safe for Celiac.

February 2017– Enjoyed the new restaurant more than the old Firehouse! So happy to see it return to the neighborhood. The steaks were some of the best we've ever had. Wait staff were knowledgeable (and welcoming) about what menu items are gluten free, cross contamination, and what can be modified.
*Update February 2020* they have a new chef who has revamped the menu. We’ve been for Sunday brunch several times, but the menu is heavily bread based. Some wait staff are more knowledgeable than others about GF options. Also they can’t always modify dishes based on what prep has already been done. They try their best to accommodate but would be nice if they just had a few more dedicated GF items on the brunch menu or offered GF bread for more options. Again, this was just brunch, we haven’t returned for dinner since my initial review.
Although they don’t have a separate gluten free menu, the staff are very knowledgeable and were very careful about my allergy issues. I am very sensitive, but I had no adverse reaction and the food was excellent. I would definitely go back. This restaurant is pricey, but the food is excellent.

No items marked gluten free. Service was clumsy and slow. Steak was over cooked. Second steak came out with an onion ring on it and slathered in butter. Third was finally right but very chewy. This place should probably not be on here and is very expensive. They do have Chopin vodka and it’s a cool place inside if you want to stop for a drink.
