Chicken In A Barrel BBQ

Chicken in a Barrel was just ok! The chicken itself was decent, but the fries aren’t gf and it didn’t feel like there was a ton of variety. All of their rubs and sauces are gf, though. I got a house salad with chicken and ranch, and didn’t have a reaction!

I’m not sure what the uncertainty is. I’m very sensitive to cross contamination and I didn’t have an issue. Maybe I got lucky. I would check with the waitstaff to be sure, but the meats were fine for me.

Chicken was really good and so was the coleslaw the chili is made with beef base that has wheat. The bbq sauces are gf, but made in a facility that processes wheat. I did use the bbq sauce and did not get sick. I

Best pulled pork and smoked chicken! BBQ sauce is gluten free and come on the side (my favorite way). The staff was super knowledgeable and stated they would change gloves and use new utensils. Im assuming they did becauSe I didn’t get sick.

All of their “specials” are gluten free. I got ribs and pulled pork. the pulled pork was amazing. they also offer GF buns for burgers but they were out of burgers when i went. no reaction

Celiac friendly?

Gal at the counter that took my order couldn’t answer some questions but she went and spoke to the chef to clarify that the fries had gluten breading - therefore I was impressed with their concern level. I ate the sampler plate with rice, bbq sauces were gluten free - chicken and ribs were great! The non GF eaters in the family enjoyed their burgers and pizza - a good stop for lunch in Waimea!

The chef was knowledgeable about gluten free and asked his server to change her gloves. We had the sampler plate, the food was AMAZING! One of my favorite meals on 4 islands. My daughter did not get sick.

Being gluten free and dairy free, the staff only offered me one option: a quarter of a roasted chicken with a side of rice. The fries are NOT gluten free. It was fine, nothing special (keep in mind that meat is not my favorite). Nothing on the menu is marked. All that being said, I didn’t get sick.

The staff told me everything except the BBQ sauces were made in a kitchen where cross contamination occurs however I had an immediate reaction when I finished my meal. It may have been the chili, not sure. Everything tasted great and would recommend it to people who aren’t very sensitive.

Food was delicious. We called ahead and carried out. Lots of gf options and staff was very knowledgeable.

The food was so yummy! The chili beans, rice and all meats are GF. They offer a GF bun for the burgers (didn’t try it). The only downside is the fryer is NOT dedicated so not safe for Celiacs. Really a bummer, that one change could make this place 100% celiac friendly! We will be back, a lot.

Tons of gluten free options, with the same menu as the other locations. Staff is extremely knowledgeable. Delicious food, lots of seating and fun atmosphere.

It's marked on their menu that all the plates are gluten free and dairy free. They come with meat, rice, and a cup of chili or you can sub that for coleslaw. I ate at this restaurant 3 times at different locations around the island and didn't seem to have any reaction! It's good BBQ and good sized portion of meat.
