Chicory Cafe

I told the employee at the counter I have celiac disease and she knew immediately what could be made safely GF. Without me needing to ask, she also told me that they use a separate toaster and a separate prep area to reduce cross-contamination. All of the sandwiches can be made gluten free with Udi’s bread. We had the caprese sandwich and the Cajun chicken, both were delicious!

The counter person wasn’t sure about GF and asked someone else who said they were out of GF bread or pasta and couldn’t get in restocked… and they I didn’t feel safe with anything so I left.

I got the egg, bacon and cheddar sandwich on GF bread! They have a separate toaster for GF bread and were knowledgeable about cross contamination. Food was delicious and I didn’t get sick!

The menu doesn’t say gf, but if you ask they have gf bread and heat up sandwiches with foil on the grill so they are celiac safe. Tasty food and great coffee drinks! We ate here twice on our recent stay.

Very happy to have seen these reviews while on our cross-country trip. I felt overwhelmed with the GF sandwich choices because it's been so long since I've had a sandwich anywhere but home. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and a caprese, both for the road. The staff seemed accustomed to GF orders -- it was great to be treated normally! The sandwiches were delicious, and I had no issues. I really wish this cafe was located in my town.

I had andouille sausage sandwich, wife had avocado BLT, both on decent gluten free bread, sister-in-law had breakfast sandwich (eggs, bacon & cheese) on Italian bread - all sandwiches were excellent - if we lived here we would be regular customers often! Nice place!

The best GF bread I’ve ever had. Super good sandwich, asked about the GF Mac and cheese but they no longer carry it. Highly recommend, will definitely be coming back

At first, I was a little unsure as the person behind the register looked a little disinterested as I was giving my standard, “I’m actually allergic to gluten. I’m not just on a diet. I will get sick...” explanation to them. I ordered the Mac and cheese as that seems to be safest from the reviews here. I did not get sick. Also, if you like coffee, get yourself a cup. It’s good.

Gluten free traditional mac n cheese. Absolutely delicious! Opted out of a sandwich because I don't care for Udi's bread, but they said I could have any sandwich made gluten free.

Had the gluten free Mac n cheese. Loved that it was baked, and so creamy and cheesy. I had the bacon and there was A LOT of bacon. Perfect for a quick dinner!

Gluten free mac n cheese (both andouille and crawfish) were fantastic. Will definitely stop at this cafe again.

They have awesome food especially for gluten free people (celiacs)! I loved it and did not get sick! They take extra precautions to make sure your food is free from cross contamination! Love!! Plus they have cookies!

My gf 15 year old son loved it here. He went 2 days in a row for a bacon, egg and cheese on gf bread along with a delicious hot chocolate and a cookie. He said they were very understanding and careful of cross contamination.

Very conscientious and flexible. Nutritionist manager lady had all the workers swap out gloves and utensils.

Delicious breakfast sandwiches! It was so nice to find the Chicory Cafe with its gluten free bread, bagel or blueberry muffin choices. The ambiance of the cafe is as wonderful as the food. I will definitely go again.

I was visiting South Bend from the Philadelphia area and was having a hard time getting a GF meal. I was so happy so find the Chicory Cafe! My turkey sandwich was delicious and the bacon was nice and crispy. Yummy!!

Chicory Cafe carries UDI's bread so you can make any of their sandwiches gluten free. They also have gluten free bagels, muffins, cookies, and soups.
