Chiwawa

My celiac child had chicken tacos on the corn shells, chips (we were told they were not fried with any gluten items), queso and salsa. She did not get sick and it was a great meal!

Not celiac, got super sick after only 1 (expensive!) taco. I asked multiple questions, they claimed all tacos are gf (but not marked gf), it was a corn tortilla but they claimed all meat, seasonings were gf. Do not recommend!

Check before you visit! We scheduled a group outing here because two of us have celiac and we'd heard they had a good GF menu. I called a few minutes ahead to ask about cross-contamination and was informed they didn't have anything gluten free right now. I clarified at the restaurant - did this mean they were out of corn tortillas? No. The staff couldn't answer questions about cross-contamination - there is apparently no separate prep area - but followed up for me politely. Everything was delicious, but it was a frustrating experience!

I have celiac, and issues with casein, so I have not had Mexican (or Mexican-ish) food in years. Stumbled on Chiwawa and oh. My. Word. The server was incredibly helpful, and with his advice, I was able to order a meal that was totally safe. All their GF food is separately prepared, and oh, it was yummy! Also, the French press coffee was fabulous.

We love chiwawas!! I have a wheat allergy and I have never had any issues. I always get a fish taco, corn, and guacamole. I highly recommend the guacamole. It is some if the best on the city! And the corn is amazing!

This restaurant has lots of gluten free options. All taco, queso, and soup dishes are GF. Vegan friendly. Kid friendly. Wallet friendly!
