Review of City Tap House

Menu and server clearly indicates what can be made gluten free. My server asked if it was an allergy or preference and then checked with the chef. He came back and said the chef suggested salad without protein as all other dishes are prepared in a station that has gluten so there is cc risk. This was all very thorough and reassuring. I ordered a ribeye steak with vegetables which should have little to no risk of cross contamination but the server said it still could be unsafe but could not explain why. Basically, the menu says what does not have gluten but the kitchen is not strict on cross contamination so it highly limits a menu with many naturally gluten free items. It is too bad because they seem to have the menu right and well trained servers but the kitchen seems looser with allergies or celiac.
