We stopped on a road trip. The waitress told me they only put one gluten containing item in the fryer - onion rings - as everything else is breaded with rice flour, and use special non-transferable oil so there’s no cross-contamination. I was absolutely not believing this and she came back and said there is also one fryer that is dedicated gluten free. Because she was so adamant about the non-transferable oil being safe for people with Celiac, saying that they serve people with Celiac all the time and “never once had anyone gotten sick,” I lost all confidence in the restaurant. I decide not to get anything that went in the fryer, even if it was supposedly the dedicated fryer. I got the steak salad, without the fried onion strings, and it was not very good. That being said, I did not get sick, so that’s most important. I did have a gluten free blueberry cheesecake that was good.
