I had the grilled shrimp, rice, and vegetables. When ordering, I mentioned that I had celiac disease. After discussing what that meant, the waitress asked me if I would like some hush puppies or Texas toast with my meal.
Thankfully, I don’t think I got glutened. Both my husband and I felt almost drunk walking out though. The only thing we could think of is high levels of msg? The feeling passed after about an hour, but we even considered staying at a hotel we were so concerned!

I called ahead before going to make sure they could accommodate me. Elkin is a small town and that usually means limited options. The waitress assured me they could help me, so I went and she went over the menu with me and knew what was in every dish. The food was AMAZING! They were very careful with my meal and the waitress even made sure the kitchen knew that my plate couldn’t be in contact with my friend’s plate. I ordered a chicken meal on rice and the seasonings, the fresh veg, everything was good!

Service was good as well as the food. They didn’t offer any GF buns for the burgers which is fine with me. There were plenty of salads, grilled chicken, veggie plate, and steaks to choose from. The fries however are not fried in a dedicated fryer, I did educate my server on the importance of cross contamination for someone who is a sensitive celiac
