My wife and I are celiac and always cautious, but there are very few dining options in Joshua Tree, especially if you’ve been hiking all day and don’t feel like cooking. So we come here. We’ve been here a couple times a year for several years and we’ve never gotten sick. We try to order carefully for no obvious cross-contamination as well as let the staff know of our needs. We always get the fries, which have a dedicated fryer. We also get the huevos rancheros and salads. All have been safe. They have a very small area outside (about 4 small tables) for seating. It’s closed though, from time to time in the summer, because the flies get too bad. Mask wearing wearing was 50/50 for the establishment. It gets pretty tight in there because it’s the only decent restaurant in town, and it’s kinda small. We took our food back home.
