Decent food, expensive for what you get. Ok amount of GF choices. And knowledge staff.

I was glutened last night at dinner at Crows Nest. I ordered the gluten free fish sandwich and the side was the spinach salad. I think it was the salad? It had bacon and cheese on it, balsamic vinegrette. But i also used the tartar sauce on the sandwich. Im mad at myself i should have been more vigilant and skipped the sauces and asked more questions about the salad. But i also realized how much we celiacs put our trust in the server and the kitchen staff. Scary.

We had an extremely knowledgeable server who was able to describe which ingredients were GF. Felt very safe with her. She offered us warm gf bread too, which was delicious. Ordered the chicken Azteca which was definitely more French than Mexican, but tasty. Gf items were marked on the menu. There were several GF deserts including crème brûlée and hot fudge sundaes.

Seems like the experience here greatly depends on your server- we had an excellent one. They do have GF bread, but you need to request that it not be toasted when getting a breakfast omelette. Fantastic vibe with great ocean views.

I told them about my gluten allergy and both dishes they brought had gluten- soy sauce. The waitress said “it wasn’t that much.” I’m happy I caught it both times. I will not be going back.

Very nice casual restaurant with a great view on the lighthouse and the marina. They have many items on the menu marked as possible to make GF. I had fish tacos and they were delicious! The staff was knowledgeable about gluten in the sides options.

Wait staff was knowledgeable about items in the food and how it’s cooked (shared frier). Options were limited but not impossible.

Oh my goodness, their gluten-free bread is SO good. They even let me buy a loaf to bring home! It doesn’t sound like they automatically take celiac-level precautions, but I asked them to change gloves, etc. and they noted that I had a severe allergy so that the staff would take extra precautions. I didn’t get sick, so it seems like they’re safe if you take the time to make it clear how serious your gluten sensitivity is.

They make their own gf bread and its fantastic! I got breakfast and got to be the first person to try their new bread. Its light, it's not dry and the flavor is great! I'm very excited I kinda want to get a loaf to take home.
Vegetarian sandwich on gf delicious!
